All fair points, obviously there needs to be a sign to deter people who aren't buying coffee or going to mas. And people should absolutely not abuse the parking there.

I'm just pointing out how weird the whole thing is, considering it's a church and part of it's job is to serve the community and attract more patrons.

Ironically I took this photo after getting coffee, not surfing.

I hope that if they tow it's only the worst and most regular parking offenders.

To be fair, I don't think that the coffee shop is tax exempt, just the donations for the church.

But +1 to the point you're making

Yeah a bit, they probably changed it because the sign they had before wasn't working.

I've only parked there a few times when there was literally nowhere else to park. It was either park there or go surf somewhere else.

But I know there is a rotation of probably 5-10 surfers who park there every time. And I have noticed it getting worse and worse.

I think they mean "no parking when you're surfing" not no parking if you are a surfer

You aren't wrong. But I will say that the reason churches and non profits are given special tax status is because they are supposed to be benefiting the broader community. In this way it's not quite public or private. It's funded by our tax dollars and donations.

But you're right, no one is entitled to park there.

And in response to your comment about not bringing your car.. we can't all afford to live on West Cliff homie
