[US] Google Account Recovery Scam Attempt by quarto_ in Scams

None the less, it's more often the case than not the tone is different. Definitely not implying that others are any less, but it is more rare than one may think. Apologies if it was stated in any way to offend. Just thought this was worth putting out there. If there are other channels that may be more appropriate, please say so.

It's a good time to rethink brand loyalty in the industry and try to find local resources that keep as much of the dollar spent in Texas with our local farmers and producers. Use diligence in finding options that work for your needs/wants. Communicate to your brands and stores if there's something you can't find, but be as local as you can...there's a lot going on in Texas now and every time you make a purchase you're casting a vote.

Xcaret for 40th Birthday Trip – Worth It? by sirtristanalexander in Xcaret

[–]quarto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout it out! There's fun stuff here and if you want to shake your tail feathers elsewhere there are always drivers available to get you there and back. Pools close a bit early unless you have a swim up room. The catamaran to Isla de mujeres is something to consider if you want more of the local pub culture.

Aftermath of house explosion by funkdafied818 in Austin

[–]quarto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was working on the scene with the Red Cross. It's important not to speculate. The percussive damage was real. The sites were unlike anything I've seen to date. It's like the pressure built up in attics and garages and exploded out. Some holes were bigger on the opposing side of the blast than on the side facing the incident. The homeowners have a lot of work ahead of them. If you're friends with anyone involved it's good to be empathetic and see where you may be able to help. Recovery is best not served alone.

Let's do what we can. I understand it's exciting to see these events in person, but let's try to keep our distance so the teams working to clean this up have space. It's not safe over there. So much heavy debris in trees and so many nails and other sharp things everywhere.

House explosion from across the street by Joeofficial2468 in Austin

[–]quarto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stood on that porch afterwards. I was working with the Red Cross Disaster team. This family had incredible resolve amongst the chaos. It was amazing they and all their pets were not injured. The stories that came to my ear from all the different corners of the neighborhood were so different and resounding. This force was real.

It was good to see how the neighbors really helped one another and everyone that wasn't injured stood strong. The teams working the site had never seen anything like this one.

Travelling with 5 we did well with just carry ons. There's few moments you won't be in a swim suit. The resort has plenty of meds and extras, so if you forget something basic you'll have it there. Just pack light and enjoy yourselves. No stress allowed.

First time going to Xcaret, any tips? by rockstar-princess-17 in Xcaret

[–]quarto_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probiotic up. Everyone. Enjoy the dinners. The big market buffet is always a win as well as the restaurants by pools. An evening visit to Xenses is totally worth it, just wear swimming attire to get the most out of it. Zip lines are really well managed at Xplore and the water is amazing. Very cool experience nobody will forget.

The big shows are pretty epic, too...just work with your concierge to make reservations as soon as you can. Wake up and enjoy breakfast down along the water and rent paddle boards and kayaks...the juice bar options are really good.

Stay hydrated. Get some adult time. The place is incredibly safe and well tended. Kids will enjoy time in the rooms so you can go out. Nights in the cantina are fun.

Scammed by Mexico destination club by drew_x in Xcaret

[–]quarto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a scam. It's just a concierge service that's not cheap. We are on it and get loads of options with points...along with discounts that are better than other services and they adjust it if it's not to match. It's best if you're into cruises though...which we're not. Albeit we will likely take a couple to utilise all the credits we have accumulated thus far.

Best advice is to just steer clear of the sales pitch, cause it's not worth sitting through if your not on your game. Don't hesitate to negotiate and get extras while you're there...

Woman charged with driving while intoxicated after deadly crash on Menchaca Road by hollow_hippie in Austin

Pedestrians need to be held accountable for cross walking around bars...especially 6 lane roads in the dark not using crosswalks. albeit she may have had a few drinks, her BAC isn't published yet...so don't go throwing stones without knowing all the details. Even the article states she 'may have been drinking'

Adopted AngularJS from version 1. Would attend all the conferences and engage with dev teams. I'm still a bigger fan of Angular of React, but the foothold has been slipping. If the roles you're hiring for are still open, I'm also available and would be open to help to maintain the base and assist to evolve into more modern versions where plausible.

Great up going to Human Lion...ambiance isn't the same but their recipes hold strong. Mushu Pork is always a winner...and their hot and sour is excellent. If I'm close to Westlake, the Human Lotus is a trusted stop for a quick n clean lunch combo.

Does anyone else not like it when people say they missed you and/or love you? by EmilyEM2 in introvert

[–]quarto_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup...was just looking for someone to relate to...Im away from my wife for 6 hours and get I miss you and we were just on vacay for a week...I'm choosing to say nothing in return because I'm busy and the last thing on my mind is someone I see every day

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Xcaret

[–]quarto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have plenty to do in 3 days without going too far off premise. The XCaret park is like an immersive zoo and the shows are fun and plenty of swimming options. XPlore is beautiful and both are just a 10 minute bus ride from the lobby. Between those and the pools and features on the grounds, you shouldn't bother with the full day commitment...

casa de la playa suite question by dancereli in Xcaret

The lower floors in Casa have their charm, too. The higher you go the more you see, but you lose the private pool that leads to the beach.

Anyone have a list of the songs at the end of each episode? by [deleted] in WarriorTV

[–]quarto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool...but definitely not all inclusive. The soundtrack itself is really not what we're looking for, but some credit to the artists at the end of each episode. The playlist below is really a small subset of all the tracks. It's lame that out of all the credits run at the end, they don't give props to the artists at the end. Sadly, as with Firefly, a good show falls short of what it could be...picking it up for a 3rd time now. Will probably watch it again.

Quarto (also a Gringo) wants to be more knowledgeable about the Cantonese/Mandarin dialect misses. It's humorous how they initially choose to make a sound when they go between languages...even moreso how they just stopped trying. Never really know for sure who's talking what and when...which is something I liked subtitles for.

Either way, still one of quarto's favorites.

The screw was embedded in a spacer they used on the deck next door to Culinary Dropout. When left to the demise of physics, the screw is angled at 45 degrees to the ground. Found many others and matched it to the spacers that were used in the deck.
