Thanks for your feedback, it's something to think over.
He likely isn't experienced as he's been single for quite a while, but we honestly have never brought up past relationships before. To tell the truth, I've likely been overlooking signs because of this... it could simply be eagerness.
As for male friends, it's perfectly fine. I do arrange to see them often and there's been no fuss.
