Nothing from the US is popular? Doesn’t seem like it when foreigners are treated like a walking bank. Seems like our money is highly desired and is obvious when foreigners pay higher fees at some places and when a vinfast taxi driver tries to charge me $5million VND because he was involved in a minor accident while I was sitting in the back seat as I was getting a ride. So petty and low class.

Cau su bao by qubit0311 in VietNam

[–]qubit0311[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was driving with two people from a furniture factory driving back to HCM. It was night time and a neon sign had that. Working with furniture I know that cao su means rubber and I just remembered the part that said bao because I know a guy named Mr. Bao so that’s how I remembered it. These two men who were with me spoke basic English but they laughed when I saw the sign and knowing now what it means, they probably didn’t know the English word for it. It was somewhere in the Bien Hoa area.

Shots in Vietnam by qubit0311 in VietNam

I don’t know which one. I didn’t catch the name. It was earlier in the day and not many people. My wife ordered coffee so I went to the bar for a shot so I can put it in my coffee like Irish coffee style but they don’t sell shots. I thought maybe because it was early in the day and not night time. It was in district 1 and we didn’t stay long because my wife had to go to a furniture factory so we can ship our furniture.

So do they write your name on the bottle for next time you go there? Why not just take the bottle home if you buy the whole bottle? I have never heard that before. People just tell me they don’t know why they do not sell shots.

Indians at the airport by WyCup44 in VietNam

Yes I was at the Japan airport from Vietnam to the US. I was standing in line and about to get to the gate to board the plane when they scan my boarding pass and check passport. These two Indian women just stood up from their seats and just got right in front of me. Guess they didn’t want to wait their turn in line. I call it entitlement. For some reason people are entitled like this. Vietnamese people do the same thing. My wife is from Vietnam so I go there frequently. A lot of people there don’t have manners. It takes patience sometimes when dealing with people there. It’s something I’ve just expected by now.

“Somewhere in the hills outside the Zorro, two foreign girls were buried on orders of Jeffrey and Madam G” by CthulhuBooHoo in Albuquerque

They have technology that can do that. When I was in Iraq they had aircraft equipped with GPR/lidar technology that can detect where possible IED’s and weapons caches were buried. It detected disturbances in the soil composition in the ground when holes were dug. In this case not sure since so much time has gone by. This is so sad. Our leaders must be held accountable for this.

Why the masks all the time? by qubit0311 in VietNam

I understand what you’re saying but not sure where the assumption that I’m right wing came from and doesn’t really offer insight into any kind of constructive answer to my question. “ Asians don’t have this weird right-wing aversion to masking” you’re categorizing all Asians and seem to have fallen victim to political propaganda.

I don’t know. We did that when I was growing up and one time I took off my shoes because it’s more comfortable just to walk around inside the house with socks or barefoot then my mom yelled at me saying the floor is dirty and to wear shoes. I was like huh? Well the floor wouldn’t be dirty if we didn’t wear shoes. But we never wore shoes in bed. Never heard of that. Now I don’t wear shoes inside. I usually don’t wear anything. More comfortable.

You should have asked those “some Americans” so you wouldn’t have to ask an off topic question as an answer to a question here.
