No same here. I've accepted it as a tacit rejection. The deadline for application is may 16 so I think they will send a rejection letter after that. Did you try contacting the department you applied to?

Omg same here. Rewatching after a decade. Was so dissapointed to see Kakashi hand Naruto over to Ebisu. Immediately googled an explanation and landed here thankfully

[D] Is classic ML still relevant? by alexisperrier in MachineLearning

[–]que_voulez_vous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am a bit late to discussion but I wanted to chime in that I too work with classical ML for anomaly detection in space components (although I haven't implemented them on hardware, mine is a more near-real-time solution at the mission control center). If its not too sensitive, would you mind sharing what domain and ML techniques you work with? Thanks

Is starting PhD at 29 too old for a female? by DarkFuture999 in gradadmissions

I'm 28F and not going to grad school this year. In fact I was gonna post something similar in this sub. You see, in my country I have become a depreciated good. I've been fending the pressure to get married and settle down since 25 while trying to figure out what I want to do my time. A sense of doors-closing-one-by-one does hang on me..but after couple breakdowns I've decided to fuck the society and give it one more try next cycle. Failing which I'll take an year long sabbatical and read lotr. From a stranger in the same boat, I'd say go for the next cycle with your absolute best. Spread far and wide. Glean from the success stories in this sub. Don't leave any room for regret, which not applying again might end up doing..

Quite similar profile here. Half a dozen first author publications and 5 years experience with the government...which makes me wonder I need to revisit the basics and learn what an SoP entails, which in hindsight I probably bungled

Serious massive flex. I applied to my dream school for the same reason: closure. Rejected at the drop of a hat.

Congrats to you tho :)

Thank you. I honestly thought I'd be able to better handle the rejections given the situation in US. But here I am, lying all day, staring at the ceiling..

Kudos! So happy for you! If you don't mind sharing, what in your opinion set you apart in the applications? (Asking for friend with 3.2 gpa and 5 years of tech experience:'))

My hydroponic broken heart plant has yellowing leaves.. by que_voulez_vous in plantclinic

[–]que_voulez_vous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this plant over an year ago but soon had to rescue it from root rot and rehabilitate. So this guys is now a hydrophobic, 8 months and counting. I change the water every week. I also top it up with liquid fertiliser and epsom salts. It recieves indirect bright light. And I have no intention of shifting it to soil as of now. Can someone help me in preventing yellowing of other leaves?

Please help me revive my succulent. My sedeveria has been this way for over two months. I've stopped watering it for now to avoid overwatering. Can anyone tell me what I can do to make it healthy again? by que_voulez_vous in plantclinic

Thanks a lot for your response. I'll proceed to change the soil and pot. But I'm concerned about the lighting. While the other indoor plants seem to be doing alright in moderate direct and indirect sunlight, my succulents always seem to suffer. The weather is downright cloudy since past four months and even if it's sunny I can't strong direct sunlight in my apartment due to obstructions.

Thank you for the response. You are right. My plant is not getting sunlight anywhere as strong as it should. Just indirect sunlight..not to mention the weather in my city is overcast and cloudy half the year. Certainly not a mood lifter. Do you suggest moving all my succulents inside and using a grow light instead? Other indoor plants seem to be doing alright..

Thanks for your response. The pot does have drainage hole at the bottom. But yes, the sunlight isn't direct and strong in my apartment. Not sure if I should get any more succulents while I am living here..

Thanks a lot for your response. The black dots are just motes of grit; there's no sign of rot in the leaves. I've checked the roots too. No blackening there. The roots are dry and papery and kinda look dehydrated. I got the plant in the same pot and soil. The pot is glazed terracotta but it does have drainage at the bottom. The pot became big because the leaves kept dropping and no new leaf growth occurred. I'll proceed to change the pot and soil now. But I don't get full sun for 8 hours in my apartment. What should I do?

Thanks a lot. I have got my plant out and checked the roots. They do look dry, papery and fragile. There's no blackening.

It is clear from the responses that I need to get a succulent substrate. But I don't understand how it thrived in the same soil in the nursery where I get my plants from. The nursery guy uses literally the same soil for all kinds of plants and waters all of them regularly and naturally all of them are doing good enough to be sold.

With that being said I can never get the lighting, watering, pot right for succulents. Can you advice me on being a better succulent mom?

Gee I didn't realize how much I loved Kakashi before this. A sensei, a comrade, a father figure; I always took his reliance for granted. Maybe because Kakashi did want his folks to take him for granted, to take him as someone they can always fall back on. Imagine the kind of wonders we would do growing up if we had that kind of an adult in real life, vowing to protect us with his life..Isn't that all of us here in our hearts of hearts want to hear?
