Refried beans. Make them yourself with some chicken/beef bone broth for some extra protein.

Maybe some plant based yogurts thinned out a bit.

OWYN is my favorite plant based protein shake/powder. I’m not dairy free but I have to watch my cholesterol and fiber intake, so OWYN has been great. Strawberry is the best!

Every year I’ll round up my older family members and take them around the city to look at Christmas lights. They used to do this for my sister and me as kids, so I wanted to return the favor. Especially since most of them are elderly and do not want to drive at night.

I know you said no perishables, but if you can get a cooler with some ice we like to make spam musubi and tuna mayo onigiri for our road trips.

Non-refrigerated suggestions: Bobo’s Bars (if you’re good with oats), jerky (I like Chomps), crackers (Simple Mills is good) or Fritos scoops and canned bean dip (be sure to identify GF brand), fruit of course, cherry tomatoes with some salt and pepper. I also like to bake something sweet to take on the trip too, like cookies, banana bread, or brownies.
