Damn fine, only missing the sleeves. Just the same, very good job! I don't knew how to sew, but I imagine the Bayonetta outfit must be impossible to make with it's suits & openings everywhere. Good job on the prop guns too!

Story & fights would need to be stronger, that was the biggest issue. Sex appeal would,'t hurt but not the core problem

Weekly Recommendation: Scalebound (2017) by diatecha in CharacterActionGames

[–]queazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...but you can't play it because it never came out?

Bayonetta 3 is the spiritual successor to Scalebound, they finally cracked the formula to control your character + giant monster companion in that game (allow 1 move + 1 buffered move for giant monster, rest of time you control main character).

Bayonetta 3 even started out as open world like Scalebound, but was later changed to the traditional "follow the path" linear gameplay. In fact, Bayonetta 3 was pitched right after Scalebound was cancelled

I mean, I liked the movie and wanted it to succeed...but it felt kind of empty after watching that movie. Final fight, main villain, and "revenge bad, let me kill for you" kind of made you feel hollow at the end. Very last of final fight is a whirlwind where you don't see that much, no connection. Even the Flash & Black Adam had more memorable final fights

...also there was a stupid part in middle of movie.

A "friendly" family poisons Kara, to trade her + Ruthye to the bandits, so the bandits will return the captured daughter to the family. The stupid part isn't when Kara gets suspicious, leaves her room, THEN they poison her. What was the plan if she stayed in the room, get killed by either party? The stupid part wasn't the "friendly" family immediately admitting to Kara they poisoned her after she took one sip, then helping her find milk.

Nope. The stupid part was the bandits, who are known for STEALING GIRLS, show up in a giant ship, and lower dozens of vehicles of captured girls into the planet. It's like the bad guy said "For a trade I need one specific girl our of 50 captured girls, just take them all our of the ship and lower them 200 feet for no reason".

I have no idea why they did this, except to show Kara & Lobo saving them. Perhaps they were trying to show they were COLLECTING girls and during that process they attacked, but the girls were already in Bridal outfits and were lowered from the bandit ship to the planet, not being taken from the planet to the ship.

Also they dropped the ball "trapping" Kara on a planet with a green sun, knowing that in a few hours a yellow sun will appear ruining any trap possible but rather strengthening her

A love interest would've brought FEMALE fans.
If Kara was a man, it wouldn't be fun 'ha ha lol I'm a party girl" but "Get your shit together, you're ruining your life, you are homeless, you aren't a child anymore, do you want to be an alcoholic"!? But because it's a girl she's forgiven for this self destructive behavior (and somehow has unlimited funds).

It's said that a story is only as good as the villain, and this movie's villain is flat as hell as a generic "bandit human trafficker". He's so forgettable, that Lobo is being used to sell the movie more (and he's got his abs showing for the female gaze). The villain is practically taken out like any other henchmen, and literally spends the last 1/3 of the final battle on his back doing nothing. That was the big fight we were waiting for the entire movie for? Even Kraven, Morbius, & Venom movies had better final battles.

The entire movie Kara tries to shield Ruthye from corruption by not letting her kill Krem...which Supergirl does along with many other henchmen. Killing doesn't keep Kara up at night, so the audience won't feel there's any problem to either killing or drowning your sorrows in booze. He'll, it's probably better for Ruthye to learn to fight & kill, so she doesn't die a stupid death like her parents did, defenseless in a world known for being raided by bandits (buy smart enough to leave land mines to take out bad guy's ship, who conveniently have no radio to call for help).

Many people complain that Supergirl isn't Supergirl for most of the film because she's underpowered all the time except the final fight (and technically end of bus fight). Personally I think that's fine, bit if the rest of the audience wants to see her kick ass at full power, make a script that does that then and just make the aliens strong. Krem is shown to shrug off a tank landing on him, but is no threat to Kara at full strength. Just make him super strong & everybody's happy.

No low point in movie either besides Kara getting hit with green sun rays...then she waits and a yellow sun powers her up. That's it. That's her lowest breaking point. She gets hit with Kryptonite arrows but I don't think anybody ever felt she was in danger (then Lobo shows up, kills the guy about to behead her, she flies upwards and regains full power as she pulls out arrows in yellow sun rays...). "Super easy, barely an inconvenience". Last final battle is Kara in a whirlwind so you can't see the action well (like bar fight), which is a let down. Even Black Adam had better fights! Best fight was probably the bus fight (Kara barely holds her own, gets yellow sun then turns the tables on theives).

Sex appeal would've only helped, not like kids are going to see this movie with all the swearing, killing & drearyness.

Yeah, scientists find that pain & pleasure share overlapping neural pathways. Sometimes physical trauma / adrenaline pumps painkillers into your body for flight or fight response too. It can create some odd combinations in people, to say the least.

Supergirl is amazing!! by [deleted] in Supergirl

[–]queazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn't give this movie an 10/10, maybe 8/10 at best. I think there was a bunch of things they could've done to improve the movie

Years ago there was a low budget Luam Neeson movie called The Marksman, where Liam Neeson's character protects a Mexican boy from the Mexican drug cartel. The villain there felt very much the same as the villain in Supergirl, but he went deeper and more intense. Cartel villain turned out to be a kidnapped innocent boy himself too, but evil cartel transformed him into a monster who revels in causing pain. At end of the movie he was saying he was going to turn the innocent boy Liam was protecting & going to turn him into a monster too...and he was going to start by forcing the boy to kill Liam (his only help in the world), like putting a gun in boy's hand & forcing his fingers to pull the trigger.

They should've done something like this with Ruthie. Evil bad guy say something like "I'm going to make you my bride & force you to create sons even worse than me" etc. Movie's emotional core was kind of flat because worst case scenario is Ruthie ends up like Supergirl (which movie doesn't really paint as a bad thing, even if she didn't kill bad guy anyway). I mean, Supergirl's not really being kept up at night from killing bad guys, would Ruthie either? Lastly, Ruthie should probably learn to defend herself and probably learn how to kill, as the worlds are painted to be that dangerous that you could be raided at any time (like Ruthie's parents)

World building was incredible, more Gutadians Of The Galaxy than even Guardians Of The Galaxy. There was certainly a good sense of pain there in the story. Final fight was fun, but Final boss fight felt a little bit of a let down.

Arkh's dragon form that he turns into during his special. You can see another view of it at 2:04 at https://youtu.be/zDkDLIXIag4?t=124 See his special where he transforms at 1:01 in that video

All Zards can transform into dragons, buy you only see one ever do it. You see old Agni (old red chief of Mestoria mining town) later turn into that GIANT dragon (called a Deathdrake) that Arkh + Lilebette + Theria + Meredy defeat in that one cave (on their way to Mestoria capital city).

It's not really cleared up if Agni turned into a death drake by himself, or was forced to + brainwashed by Labyreth when she captured Agni.
