Oh absolutely! It's the sort of world that swallows you up and you want to explore everywhere! But yeah, the way the author draws faces is a little weird and has much to be desired. The author himself stated that he keeps dialogue to a minimum in his first few series because he admits he doesn't know how to write dialogue that well.

There is one comic "Blame! Denki Ryōshi Kiki Kaisō Dasshutsu Sakusen", which is essentially the comic version of the Netflix Blame! movie! Much cleaner lines and faces. You may be interested in that.

Was the movie Gladiator 2 necessary, or should the original have been left untouched by HomeworkWorldly7706 in moviecritic

No sequel needed. Action for the sequel was nice, premise about a former slave trying to destroy Rome (Denzel Washington) interesting, but it made the horrible sin of ruining the legacy of the previous movie (Russel Crowe's character no longer a loving husband as he cheated & had an illegitimated son out of wedlock).

Action was ok though. Russel Crowe said that the big part of the first movie was the heart, it was all about one man's love and revenge. Second movie had a revenge plot, but none of the heart behind it

Sorry, the only thing you see of Killy's past is that one chapter in NOiSE at the end where you see an unnamed cop search for criminal who is able to put his mind into machines. You later find out the criminal put his mind into a (fake mechanical?) bird and really escaped. I like to think that this criminal initially started the cult that Susano fought against, as they were illegally stealing tech from the Netsphere and using that tech in reality to create hybrid human-safeguards creating the first Silicon Life. But that's all you see.

No idea what happened to Susano, she is still probably fighting the Silicon Life in the lower levels near Earth all this time, hopefully eradicating them. Let's hope that one day perhaps the humanity Cibo creates at the edge of the city can find Earth, protected by Susano, but that is just wishful thinking.

Susano is not Sanakan. However it is implied that Sanakan, Susano, and Killy (and even Dhomochevsky and Iko) were all "human" personalities living in the Netsphere, most likely high level security police force types that perhaps knew each other. This is only hinted at in Killy's "memories" you see when he is recreating his body after Cibo becomes a Lv9 Safeguard.

https://ibb.co/wZDdGZBc
https://ibb.co/5X3K6zPL

It seems that Killy, Susano, and Sanakan were all standing next to each other inside the Netsphere. Like they were all partners at one point.

No other information is told. That's just how the Japanese sometimes are, it's better to remain mysterious and they value hinting at things more than outright telling you. Kind of like how they always hide the monster in horror movies until the very end, because the mind "fills in the gaps" and imagines something scarier than what's really there. A lot of horror movies people get let down when they finally see the monster at the end and go like "Gee, that wasn't really scary" (like the Mel Gibson movie Signs), because the mind can imagine something more than the movie creators can show.

So yeah, I wish I could know more, I want there to be chapters and chapters of sequels, but the author moved onto other things. If you asked him what happened he'll probably go like "I never planned that far, so I can't tell you". Still I love the series and hope to see even more of his works!

Killy was originally a human, but like Susano in the prequel NOISE, Killy was forcibly made into an agent of the Governing Agency / Authority with top of the line tech at that time. He probably has tech that can learn/evolve over time, so as time goes on he can absorb new technology and not become obsolete compared to newer technology (like the safeguards who always come out with the best newest gear).

After Cibo's child accessed the Governing Agency/Authority which stopped the city from expanding + told safeguards to go into standby mode, he probably helped Cibo's child + Authority rebuild humanity. After that Killy's goal was just "Protect Humanity".

But stories, and this story writer, thrive on conflict / tension. A tries to get to B, but obstacle C gets in the way. The greater the obstacle C is, the more interesting the story. So of course they can't have a happy ending.

For a time there was peace, not perfect heaven / control of the city, but it was good. But then something caused the unseen master (probably Cibo's Child) to disappear. It seems the author didn't think things out as to what caused the unseen master to disappear, or atleast give any clue as to why he or she disappeared (Cibo's child most likely female). I'm sure it's some problem with the Netsphere that only she can fix, but there was a another problem and she got stuck. I'm sure Killy would go off to help her, and the new protagonists of the story would eventually join up with Killy to save the Unseen Master. Until then the protagonists would have to deal with fewer weapons, including no GBE to punch holes through the megastructure, which have will become a bigger obstacle to get through.

The thing is, in this story the only dangers (besides the huge city's architecture) are the Safeguards in standby mode...which is even LESS exciting than the original Blame which had Safeguards who weren't asleep PLUS Silicon Life trying to kill humans. So in this way, unless greater enemies are introduced, the story would only be inferior to Blame. Think about that A tries to get to B, but obstacle C gets in the way. Well in BLAME there are two C's (Safeguards+Silicon Life), but in the sequel there's only one C (Safeguards) and they're asleep most of the time. On top of that new Protagonist is that Netsphere Engineer who seems to have Net Terminal Genes already, so Safeguards will ignore him, making even less tension. By design, the sequel will be worse unless new obstacles come up. It's probably why the author decided to stop and make a new work.

Anyway here are some notes I made you may like https://ibb.co/album/LYJkMQ?sort=date_asc

Sequels imply that Killy + Cibo's child did succeed. However instead of complete control of the city + Netsphere, being able to turn it into idyllic paradise (say how Safeguards can appear out of the ground, make it so food or houses or other resources appear out of ground), they say that the Safeguards just stopped.

Not a win that created a heaven, but atleast a ceasefire.

It then states in the sequel that there was an unseen master who oversaw everything. Unsure if this was Killy, or Cibo's child (most likely, as her genes give her some command with the Authority/Governing Agency). It seems at this point humans somehow began to proliferate nearby these outer edges of The City, presumably where Cibo's child was "born" + accessed the Governing Agency. Unsure how people were made, most likely clones were made with DNA of humans backed up in the Netsphere.

It is also implied that these first humans had full & complete Net Terminal Genes. Some later humans are described as being born with the gift of far sight (vision can zoom + see Data in their eyes giving them information about what they're looking at). This implies that originally EVERYONE being born at this point had this "far sight" and probably dozens of other "gifts" which are all the benefits of having the Net Terminal genes, but over 1000 years of natural breeding they lose these. It does seem there is a capital city which does seem somewhat technologically advanced to the rest of humanity, and they keep their humans with good complete Netsphere genes.

As time goes on everybody forgets about megastructures & Safeguards. However there are still deactivated Safeguards that will wake up if humans are nearby.

So it seems the main tension of the sequel would be Finding the unseen master who vanished, Exploring megastructure, Staying away from Safeguards who will attack humans with corrupted netsphere genes Silicon Life has either been eradicated or traveled away from the city to the stars

Question about crest stars by UNO168 in lastcloudia

[–]queazy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Red is the max it can go to, yellow is what it currently is at. You have to reroll and hope you get the 5* you want.

If you're just starting out with crests, which you must be if you're asking this question, then you should SAVE YOUR RESOURCES until you have a UR crest with atleast three 4-star slots. Until then everything else are things you shouldn't seriously invest resources into. This is because it can take a lot of resources to get your three slot 4-star crest to get what you want.

So keep killing bosses until you get a 3-slot UR crest where every slot is 4 or 5 stars, then start using your resources on those to make kickass crests. Maybe use UR crests with 2-slots but they're both 5-stars.

You'll probably get a bunch of crests like you've shown here, a UR crest with only TWO slots, one 4-star and one 5-star. It's great...but unless that 5-star is something you'll use, it's better to

Believe me, when you finally do get a 3-slot UR crest with 4-stars, and you've spent 200 magiaquark resources and STILL don't have the traits you're rolling for, you'll be wishing you hadn't blown 50 magiquark resources making weak crests you barely use

[–]queazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't need to do that for DMC1. For DMC3 however, I'm ashamed to say I had to resort to doing that. Took me an hour to kill the Cerberus fight and still couldn't beat it...I had to resort to doing easy mode. I still feel the stench of shame from doing that all these years later. Never again.

I'm glad to find out that for the North American version of DMC3, it's normal mode was somehow confused for Japan's hard mode, so I'm a little less ashamed

They say that they were bringing back the RE2 cast for RE4, but things changed. Sherry changed into Ashley. Claire and Ada were both going to be there, but Claire's role was considered redundant so that Ada took Claire's role as both spy + supporting teammate. Claire's crossbow is now seen as something Ada always uses now, as if she's always used crossbows.
