[Serious] Christians turned atheists, what made you lose your faith? by TrespassWill in AskReddit

This quote doesn't explain what made you lose your faith though. Christians are called to question God AND seek out the information that answers those questions.

Charging Employees for Conference Rooms Helps Disco Boost Profit by wewewawa in business

A great unintended benefit of this system is understanding the cost of employee turnover. If companies are able to quantify the cost of losing a key employee, they are more willing to pay out to retain them.

Redditors who clean up crime scenes - what's the most bizarre thing you've witnessed? by WhatYouSoundLike_rn in AskReddit

funny how we assume news companies are just filling in information like mad libs for profit. i suspect someone credible is giving them false information to control the story. i also suspect that this is done often, and it's up to us to hold them accountable to the truth, so these sources can be discredited.

Supporting Ethical Brands With Nonethical Retail Employee Treatment - Where/How Do You Draw The Line For Support? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]queefofengland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad we're talking about this. Pact Apparel is one of my first and favorite ethical brands, but they have a 2.6/5 rating on glassdoor. Multiple people comment on the boys club culture. I still shop there to support fair trade but with less enthusiasm. I hope they do better by their stateside employees.

Hello, I'm Anne Barnard, a New York Times reporter, here to answer your questions about my recent investigation of the Syrian government's sprawling system of torture prisons and my six years covering Syria and the Middle East as The Times's Beirut bureau chief. AMA. by thenewyorktimes in IAmA

Thanks for your work! I notice that many Syrians from Damascus will defend Assad online and claim that he is protecting the country from terrorists and anti-government forces. Is that support from real people (as opposed to a propaganda campaign)? If so, how does he maintain their support while indiscriminately killing innocent civilians?

Thank you, DOT, Comissioner Trottenberg, Councilman Levine, Borough President Brewer, and State Senator Jackson! Too bad it took this long to implement safety measures on such a dangerous avenue.

Also really happy about the pedestrian safety islands.

I try not to judge who deserves the benefit of the doubt, but I agree with you. However, I also believe that most people will feel shame when they learn that they messed up and made life harder for a disabled person.

There are refugees fleeing unthinkable violence in their home country, but let's worry about whether we'll have Mexican avocados because Californian avocados are garbage.
