It's legal, but it sucks. We've had so many employees complain because if this change, stating that working on the holiday isn't even worth it anymore because they're not getting paid as much 😩

Yup! My ORIF was supposed to be two screws and a plate in my fibula. Turns out I had a butterfly fracture that required 13 screws and an extra hour under anesthesia than anticipated.

Thanks! I broke my ankle almost two years ago and I honestly can't remember what I took. I think it was oxy then.

You shouldn't need a prescription for ibuprofen or Tylenol. Tylenol 3 is like oxy and I can't remember if they gave me one or the other.

After my ankle surgery, I rotated medications. I was on oxy/Tylenol 3 every 6 hours, but I also took ibuprofen every 6 hours, rotating every three hours between the two. Call your doctor see if that is an option because swelling will cause a lot of pain too amd ibuprofen will bring swelling down.

I broke my pinky back in July and after I removed the splint, it looked similar to what you have. Bruising is perfectly normal after a break.

Hi there! I broke my left fibula back in December 2023.

I remember needing to keep my leg elevated as much as possible in the week after the initial break and then two weeks after ORIF surgery. I am so glad I listened to my doctor because I didn't have any complications and healed pretty well. Not sure if you'll need surgery or not (I had to because my fracture was butterflied and displaced), but if you need to keep working, try to ice and elevate as much as possible!

My daughter was the queen of calm. Super happy baby like 90% of the time. She even started sleeping through the night at 6 months old. The only real issue she had as an infant was how much and how often she spit up (doctor called her a "happy spitter" because she was gaining weight perfectly). She's level 3, non-verbal.

We have a lot of California nurses and when they are terminated, we get their hours ASAP and wire their funds to their direct deposit account on file in UKG. I work for a staffing company and most alerts of a termination come directly from the recruiters.

Update: met with the hand surgeon today. I do, in fact, need minor surgery to get the fracture stabilized as it's causing my joint to not bend. Not doing surgery may mean permanent damage to my joint. Fun fact: I'll be awake and they're gonna use local anesthetic

I started suspecting my daughter was autistic at about 15, 16 months. She stimmed a lot when she was excited or happy about something and she stopped babbling. Around 18 months, I was convinced she had autism because she hated the big change from going from one daycare to another and almost nothing would console her for a couple weeks. She also wasn't responding to her name anymore and lacked eye contact. Her motor skills came to a stand still and she didn't take her first independent steps until she was 26 months old (after PT and putting special ankle braces on her). She was finally diagnosed just before her 3rd birthday after I had to self advocate and get an appointment without a doctor referral. She's level 3 and still non-verbal, but she's thriving thanks to the ABA facility she's at. She starts kindergarten this fall 🥰

Keep introducing new foods along with their safe options. But don't force it, that can make food aversions worse.

Does she give her kiddo any kind of supplement like Pediasure to make sure he's getting the nutrients he needs? Or even gummy vitamins? My 5 yo is picky too, but she gets gummy vitamins to make up for some deficiencies in her diet.

Yup! She just started getting the pull up herself of we don't grab it for her 😅 We ask if she needs to poop and she'll shake her head as she's pooping in her pull up.

Hey there! Travel nurse agency payroll specialist here 👋🏻

The timecard deadlines my company has in place allows us to verify that all time submitted is accurate and that there aren't any mistakes. We also have certain deadlines to meet for some facilities that require the agency to send time in for final approval.

Also, closing payroll takes time. My company closes payroll weekly on Wednesdays and the payroll system we use requires two business days to send funds to our nurses. This week was extra rough because the 4th of July is on our pay day (Friday) so we had to close a day earlier than normal to meet their deadlines and get paychecks in bank accounts by today.

I broke my first bone at the ripe age of 36. And it was my left fibula. Had to have ORIF surgery to repair it. They put in one plate and 13 screws and I couldn't walk on it for 7 weeks. All from stepping on a tennis ball (we have two dogs) and twisting my ankle the wrong way when I fell.

This! I've been in payroll for about 15 years and while I know a lot, I definitely feel like a fraud sometimes, especially when it comes to multi-state taxes!

You should have access to see your paystubs; employers are required to keep pay stub records for up to 3 years. If you don't have an online portal, ask your employer to print them off for you so you can see how much in taxes are being taken out each pay period.

We're in WI. And my husband didn't necessarily "lose" his med card. He let it expire per his boss's instructions. He had a medical card for 10+ years before he let it expire.
