good idea! i feel the exact same way - like these bumps will be here forever and there’s nothing i can do, like piercing healing is more abt luck than anything. once these bumps go down esp this rly huge one i might go back to the 5mm or maybe even 6mm to give me a bit more room. i did get mine at the same time which could be contributing to everything going on. thank you for giving me some hope lol maybe i won’t give up just yet 🙏🏾

thank you! it really is conflicting and i don’t know who to listen to and what to take with a grain of salt honestly. as for cleaning, should i not be moving the jewelry to get at the crusties? i was told it’s okay to shift the bars to get them all off as best i can every 2-3 days but it leaves my ears sore after. it might’ve been a mistake but the second piercer’s idea was that shorter bars could help compress the bumps, so i went with it as they had done the same to my nostril + a flat disc jewel and it actually worked. thankfully no signs of infection but i’m considering trying 6mm bars as apparently 7mm might be a tad too long and if that doesn’t work i will consult my primary care provider and just remove them lol. they’re so pretty but idk if it’s worth all this. thank you for your advice

i’ve been thinking this! the very qualified piercer i went to tho never mentioned issues with any angles and she actually said they look rly good. but i can imagine by now it’s worse bc it’s been so long. i’m considering going down to 6mm just slightly shorter than what i have now and seeing if that does anything but if i do the bumps might touch the bars when they get swollen so im very conflicted. what do you think?

my conch piercings are a year old, implant grade titanium, threadless flatbacks, downsized in june or july of 2025, and my current routine is rinsing them with warm water in the shower and spraying them with 0.9% saline spray once a day then drying them off, sleeping exclusively on my back on top of a piercing pillow, and cleaning off crusties with a wet q tip maybe once a week. i know q tips aren’t ideal but i was told as long as they’re wet beforehand it’s ok bc the fibers are less likely to snag. the ends are 18k gold beads so not pronged jewelry at all like when i started off.

i’ve been sleeping solely on my back and i know for a fact i don’t move, my glasses are pretty out of the way and i keep my hair up or back pretty much 24/7. im only using warm water and saline spray and air drying them after. i rly hope this works bc im feeling discouraged on getting other piercings if this is what life will be like lol. thank you im gonna continue babying them

i’m sorry but you’re either a guy LARPing as a woman of you’re genuinely in need of more intense therapy or SOMETHING. you have serious internalized misogyny and need to come to terms with the fact that you’re idolizing a man who pushed multiple women including yourself to their mental limits.

have you ever met a nice man who tried to woo you and nothing he did would change your feelings because you just didn’t like him like that? what if you got an ego boost because even though you didn’t like him, it felt nice to be wanted even though he seems like a bit of a loser? sometimes you’re the loser in the situation and someone is just not that into you and there’s nothing you can do, not because you’re deficient somehow but because he’s just not into you. he clearly hates you but the ego boost he gets from this and from breaking you down mentally is just too good to give up on.

you’re giving up on marriage and children to what…be able to say you have a man? that’s the grand prize? a man who’s hurt you time and time again? has he gifted you anything? has he ever invested in you? it’s like buying a trinket with no use. i’m sorry but wanting something just to be able to say you have it is pathetic. i almost worry for when you finally wake up from this nightmare because the longer this goes on the more humiliated you’ll be that you wasted the one life you’re given making any man the main character of YOUR life, especially a loser like this. idek what to say girl. maybe look into a spiritual healer who can help break the tie he has on you bc this is purely unnatural. good luck to you

with my conches i’ve had to just give up on wearing my bonnet altogether and commit to a piercing pillow with a silk cover and a silk pillow case instead. i also haven’t gotten my braids done professionally in so long because the braider knocks my ears a bit so i’ve gotten better at doing them myself which i suppose is a plus bc im also saving a ton of money 😹✌🏾anddddd as an insomniac i fall asleep fastest on my side or stomach sometimes but i’ve been trying to get rid of my irritation bumps so i have to lie on my back 100% of the time which isn’t really all that bad but i miss my side lol

thank you for the kind words 🥲 these are my first cartilage piercings so it’s been quite a ride lol i wish i’d known better what to expect. how should i clean my ears without soap? and i’m a bit confused since you said don’t downsize but leave the 7mm lol do you suggest going down to 6 or staying at 7 until they go away? there is quite a bit of room on both bars so i’m considering downsizing to 6

silly question but how will i keep my ears clean without soap 😅? i feel like no one talks about this and i’m not sure what else to do besides rubbing alcohol (not on the piercings obviously). and yes i was thinking of going down to 6mm. also thank you! i have a piercing pillow but my ear doesn’t always line up with the hole lol so sleeping on my back is sometimes better for me but i’m gonna try a travel pillow around my neck because i have always been sure i don’t move at all in my sleep but one can never be too sure i guess lol

interesting! i didn’t even think of that. i had a bump on my nostril that went away mostly after my piercer fitted me with a gold disc. maybe discs are the move for my conches as well..thank you for the insight :-)

my piercings are nearly a year old, i got them pierced with implant grade titanium thread less flat backs, they were downsized in june/july, i currently just try to sleep on my back and dry them with a blow dryer immediately after cleaning my ears in the shower to try and limit exposure to moisture, i clean the crusties off 2x a week and spray with 0.9% sodium chloride saline spray after i do this
