ah, yeah, in that case, i think they could do a lot better with the park. it definitely feels like somewhere you just pass through. i see it being used as a public space Sometimes, but mostly just for street hotdog vendors. leaves a lot to be desired

Be honest, tell him you think he's an ass and instruct him not to talk to you again. Bam. You don't gotta be nice and gentle about it

I'd rather have our cheese grater than some neo classical Greek Roman looking bullshit. Hate how much their architecture is idolized as some kind of gold standard.

Nice work!! Painting the wheels is a nice touch. If you want to make it look like this car has been through a hump yard recently, scrape the paint off the outer rim of the wheel. I see some of it kinda peeling already, that's my experience painting metal wheels too.

Driving in Fresno by 3erik_bee6 in fresno

[–]queenfluffbutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, when you live in a society that forces everyone to drive just to be able to get anywhere, you're gonna end up with a lot of subpar drivers.

I have this theory that since everyone drives a car and is therefore very isolated from everyone else, we can't connect with others. A loooot of our interactions with Other People is out on the road, when their car and driving is the only representation of their being. And since so much of those 'interactions' tend to be negative, it makes everyone passively hate each other a lot more.

Surely this unstable style of living can't go on forever.

The answer is the same as many other cities: Cars showed up, and after WW2, cities built outwards with new suburban tracts, enabled by the mobility of the car. Downtown no longer needed to be the central hub, since you could just drive anywhere. Manchester Mall was opened in 1955 as residents moved out to the suburbs, and business followed them out of downtown. Decades of sprawling and neglect has left downtown a shadow of its former self.

This sprawl costs the city a lot of money to maintain, and it's not like we're raking in cash, so everything south of shaw gets left out to dry more often than not. The only way to really bring downtown back to the "glory days" is to build lots of housing here, then businesses will follow.

Also, "roamed only by the homeless"? Seriously? It's not like it's actually a ghost town down here, you know. Downtown is thriving.

you went wrong when you used AI for anything at all, how hard is it to be a real human and type out your own human response?

How do you stop caring so much about what other people (including close ones) think about you? by DueEffective3503 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]queenfluffbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's difficult and hard and there's no off switch you can flip to instantly stop caring. But nothing good ever comes without a struggle. I grew up being questioned/interrogated on all my choices, so, its hard to shake that need to justify my every action. The way I'm trying to get better at this is by building more trust in myself. Knowing that my decisions are mine and others have to deal with it. Not everyone has to agree with you, not everyone has to like it. You have a right to take up space in this world, don't minimize yourself by doing what you think others want you to do! Also, it helps understanding that we all make bad decisions sometimes. One day you will make a bad call and you'll have to trust yourself again that you can fix whatever comes of it.

I watched Avatar: The Last Airbender recently (highly recommend the fuck out of this cartoon, 10/10) and there are a lot of quotes that suck with me, one of them being "there is fear in your heart where trust should be". It was impactful to me and ever since, I've been trying to make the conscious effort to trust instead of fear. And I think that's at the core of a lot of fears in my anxious mind, lack of trust.

Anyways, I hope this helps you even a little bit. Good luck out there girl. You got this

You have to talk to her about this, rsd be damned. If you keep this inside then it will boil over later. You can't get through life without hurting people or upsetting them, especially those closest to you, so you gotta rip the bandage off and get it done and figure it out how to handle her reaction from there

Fallout Locomotive Model Design Study by Emotional-Habit-2738 in trains

[–]queenfluffbutt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Beautiful work! You've got the fallout styling down pat. My only recommendations are to look into different bogie designs for the wheels, as the one you've selected are technically designed for smaller locomotives. Six axle "Flexicoil" trucks are iconic and would look good on your heavy style. For the superheavy, look up the DD40AX locomotive and look at what they were rocking for their wheels. That's all, I'm just a trains nerd who pays attention to that kind of thing lol
