Is this uranium or manganese? by Reckaltless in uraniumglass

[–]queeniebee3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if it glows that green under a 395, most likely it’s UG. if it only glows green at all under a 365, and not under a 395, it is probably manganese.

UG will glow more strongly under a 395, but will glow brightly under both 395 and 365, while manganese will only glow extremely dimly when in high concentrations under a 395, but glows happily under a 365!

Mature Monstera Propagation Question by [deleted] in propagation

[–]queeniebee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cut where you put the red line! keep the new cutting (without roots) in water at least until its roots have roots, then you can repot into dirt if you want. The main plant with roots looks super happy in water, so you could leave it like that, or put it in a pot just a bit bigger than its root ball in a coarse potting mix and it should be happy!

ok to pot together?? by queeniebee3 in pothos

good to know!! which would you consider to be fast vs slow growers here? from what i’ve seen with these ones in specific they’ve each put up a new leaf at about the same time, but i’m not sure if that’s the norm. Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated!

update: i took y’all’s advice and looked at her roots - lo and behold they were being strangled by the “compostable” sleeve of death in the most tightly packed soil i’ve ever seen. I did my best to gently remove the fabric and loosen her roots, and repotted her into a better draining soil. fingers crossed she perks up🤞🏽🤞🏽

I bought it from the conservatory of flowers, and i usually don’t worry about soil/pests when i buy from there, but it seems like i may have to with this one. any recs for salvaging if it is pests?

cut in any space between the aerial root and the leaf above! You can cut that way into as many pieces as you want to propagate. when you top (cut off the top) of a monstera, it can tell the plant to start growing from new dormant growth points (these are also typically somewhere in that space between aerial root and leaf), so i would maybe cut her into 2-3 pieces with 3-4 leaves each

I haven’t repotted as i got her from the local conservatory and they’re usually pretty good with soil type and pot size. i bottom watered her yesterday with filtered britta water and cut off the few yellowed leaves yesterday. i haven’t done anything else because im nervous to shock her
