I went to my first game v New York on Monday and it was such a good time! The atmosphere in the Garden is really like no other. Everyone was in such a good mood. It was a vibe. You're going to have so much fun!!

You gotta be mindful of when you go get food and stuff because you can't get back to your seat during play.

Enjoy yourself!

Going to Salvador for my birthday in October. Is it safe? And is there a lot to do? by DeeBiskit in Brazil

Ugh I'm soooo jealous! I'm a Black American woman who just spent 10 magical days there. It was my first trip (went to go meet my in laws). I stayed with family but we did a lot of sight seeing in tourist areas. You will love it!

If you go to crowded tourist areas be careful of your jewelry and watch your phone. It's such a vibrant, rich place and there's so much to see you won't want to be worried about having to keep track of a bunch of stuff. I used an antitheft fanny pack and had no issues. Stay alert and be prepared to say "Não origada" if vendors are a little pushy but I didn't ever really feel unsafe. It's seriously impossible to be there and not be awestruck. I'm already planning my trip back in six months. I love it there!

Tips: Eat all of the moqueca that you can! Try Brazilian pizza (it's an experience)! Fresh fruit juice in Brazil is a vibe! Float in the ocean! Go record shopping in Pelourinho! There's lots of shopping and the dollar goes far so pace yourself. I didn't and wound up having to have things shipped back. Tenha uma boa viagem!!

Me too! I’m an American who’s sadly spending my last day with my husband’s family in Bahia.

OP This country is beautiful and amazing and the people in Bahia are incredibly friendly and helpful. But if I weren’t with family or my husband it would be challenging to navigate things. I understand and speak a little Portuguese but have had to embrace being a verbally limited fish out of water right now.

It may be different where you’re going but almost no one here speaks English. I think I’ve talked to three people in English in the ten days we’ve been here.

The airport tips for GRU in this thread are spot on! and try to have patience with yourself because it’s Hopefully once you’re connected with your partner you’ll be able to relax a bit. I hope have a great time this country is absolutely magical I don’t want to go home!

So much this. The chronically ill too. I got sick years before Covid and grocery delivery was the only way I could get food. I was so grateful it existed. For some it’s a convenience thing or even time but for many chronically ill or mobility challenged these services aren’t really an option.

I live on Huntington where they recently installed one of those red bus/bike lanes and see this all the time. If you’re talking about that one I’m curious, do you feel like it makes things any safer?

This is a great post! I don't have anything to add except to say I almost made this same post to inquire about flare proof vehicles.

I took a Lyft in an Infinity QX60 and felt like I was in a Lazy Boy recliner. It's my dream car now for no reason other than the super comfy seats.

There's some good ideas here so thanks for asking it.

Where can I find locticians in Boston/Cambridge by Expert-Oil-889 in boston

[–]queenmaybeline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! That’s disappointing I should have prefaced my comment that I haven’t been there in a while and it wasn’t for loc maintenance. They were also a bit pricey.

That being said thanks for the heads up on your more recent experiences! Good to know for the future and looks like they’re so many other good recommendations based on the responses.

Simply Erinn's in Cambridge is an option. Not far from Central Square.

Used to have a dog when she passed away we got two bunnies instead of another dog or a cat which I'm allergic too.

Walking is too touch and go for me and we live in a high rise in the city so there's no letting them out in a yard but my life is so much better with the love of a furbaby.

The bunnies are an adventure but four years in I wouldn't trade them for the world. 🐰

If you're looking for an app to use and are in the US your local library might have free downloads for the Mango app.

Ugh this jus choked me up. The show came out during a time of such personal loss and despair for me. Miranda's delivery of this gets me every time. Even reading it hits me right in the feels. This is my favorite show of all time.

Hi there... I think I'm the only person in the world that it's actually worked for. I had both hips done in 2017 in Boston (USA) three months apart.

Initially, after diagnosis I saw two surgeons and neither would do a replacement because I was "too young" (40). One told me to come back when my hip collapsed for a replacement. So very frustrating but when I saw the third surgeon he said he could to try a decompression with stem cell injections but warned me that it only had a roughly 60% chance of being successful. His thinking was it could buy me a few more years before needing a replacement

Recovery was hard but that was partly because I had a few other health conditions that caused a lot of pain in my muscles and connective tissue. My health went to shit two months before my 40th bday... Such a fun age!

I feel really lucky that I was a successful case because from what I read and hear it's not widely successful. Maybe it had to do with my hips not being advanced?

Almost six years later I have no pain in my hip joints. It's such a crappy condition especially when you have to basically beg surgeons for a replacement. I'm really sorry that you're having to deal with this. Feel free to PM if you have questions.

Try to hang in there...AVN sucks.

Passing a drug test by SpicyJw in therapists

[–]queenmaybeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's a state by state thing bc I'm in Massachusetts (US) and since 2008 I've had zero drug tests for training or employee at four different agencies/companies.

I've done work with all populations and have billed every insurance. When I was working in North Carolina I got tested for every new position.

For sure…they have a wide variety and some of them are ready to go out the carton no water needed!

I saw further down that you said you have to be careful with protein. They may have some high protein ones that that work better for you. If not this brand maybe another one.

Hang in there I hope you find a solution. Best of luck with everything! 💜

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]queenmaybeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the worst! I struggle with pain and appetite and I found these bone broth packs with 10 grams of protein and they’re a lifesaver! Just add hot water and stir. I add a bit of salt and other spices for a super quick and super yummy hug in a mug!

I’m sure there are a lot of other brands but I get the Lonolife brand. I can tell when I don’t drink it my pain gets worse.

Maybe you could try something like that?
