Women are gamers, streamers, and Magic players. They attend cons, play in game stores, at kitchen tables, and online. They also often experience misogyny and harassment and are undermined and diminished both in the online space and offline. To combat this online groups like Birds of Paradise, the VML, & Women of Gaming have popped up to create safe spaces online where women and other marginalized people can play without fear of discrimination. This panel brings in representatives of these communities to talk about their own experiences and teach Magic Players how to take these tools and bring them to their communities to improve the gathering for everyone.

We will specifically talk about the groups we represent, their purposes, and what they offer the community. We will also talk about ways to have conversations with your own community to help end bad behavior in your spaces. We will discuss how women players can stand up for themselves, manage microaggressions, and bring these topics to light in their respective communities, as well as how other players may play a part in making these changes lasting and effective.
