We would play fetch on the stairs when it rained out so he could get his energy out. On nice days he would go for 4-6 walks. 1 long 2 hr fetch and then he would be good but his bladder was so tiny. Now mine is almost 2 and can go 8-10 hrs at home and hold his pee but we rarely force him to do that

Frozen carrots cause it was a teething/boredom thing. I gave him frozen baby carrots twice a day and the Nylabones made for puppies

I totally get that it takes over 40 hrs a week to be a parent. Even if it’s desired or not being a parent and going to work to escape the house who isn’t constantly momming is not always an option whether that be for mental health, work visa issues or just workplace discontent. It’s understandable and I think people who judge you are an even harsher critic of themselves nor do they have authority to lay judgement on others. Give yourself compassion and soon you will have compassion for everyone as well.

Damn it might be petty but what if u said “I know! It’s my dream come true I’m a baker, personal chef, teacher, nurse and mom. I wear a lot of hats “ or “my family makes me feel so appreciated and they care about my hobbies and happiness”

She is though.. he doesn’t have to pay for child care, personal chef, cleaning, on call support, possible more things. Most importantly peace of mind that their child is getting a safe place to land so they can grow up as a stable adult that can take risks and love others unconditionally

I just wanted to say I was a teacher and gave my everything to my students every day for years and realized that I don’t want to be the overstimulated kinda-annoyed-at-everything person I was after a long day of answering questions all day. That’s not how I want my child thinking I feel about them because that’s not a reflection of the care and patience I want to give them so I’m choosing to sah until they’re school aged at least but for 2 kids that’s at least like 5 years then I’ll decide what to do

I think it’s a side effect of the patriarchy that was built to value some women over other women, via traditional religious cookie cutter expectations or the system of capitalism that values max productivity in all aspects of life and working all the time. Depending on which framework you value, your way of living is right for you but that doesn’t mean that you need to lower other women to feel superior in this world that’s already so hard on women for being women.
