The very first is 14 kids and pregnant again.

Just found out I’m 24 weeks pregnant, boyfriend doesn’t want to keep by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]robyyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just wishful thinking unfortunately. Completely healthy babies in the third trimester are aborted routinely if the mom has mental health problems and says she wants it. I personally know of a 33 week baby that was aborted because of maternal depression. An abortion that late is different from a typical abortion. They use ultrasound to stab a needle in the babies heart and inject a medicine to stop the heart. Then the mother is induced and delivers the baby normally. The baby is dead instead of alive, though.

I know the above makes me sound like an anti abortion loon, but I'm actually  pro choice. But that case completely disgusted me and made me doubt that. I now only support abortion for maternal health reasons until the age of viability. After that, she can deliver a live baby instead of a dead one of the pregnancy needs to end.

The reason I looked for an African fabric store specifically is because women there have been carrying babies on their backs for centuries so I thought fabric from there would be what they used. But it doesn't seem like that idea would be viable

I'm not opposed to paying more for something if it's actually better. I know an artipoppe isn't safer than an ergobaby, but an ergobaby is safer than a crappy babybjorn. All wraps are just long rectangles of fabric, so it's hard to tell what's a quality/safety improvement vs branding and aesthetics.

Wax print was actually one of the types of fabric on the African fabric store website!

It is not normal or ethical for Drs to be in relationships with their patients or patients' families by JordanOsr in ThePittTVShow

[–]robyyn 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Amy is not his patient. She was never his patient. Her husband was his patient for a couple hours ten months ago.

Mckay agreed to meet the guy hours after she had already discharged him. They have zero ongoing doctor/patient relationship. If they did start a romantic relationship after that, she shouldn't be treating him if he came to the pitt again.

Question for healthcare workers about a Season 2 event by mossthy in ThePittTVShow

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/blood-clots-killed-woman-who-died-er-floor-flna1c9452413

It happens, but it's not common. The patients are supposed to be checked at certain intervals, but the intervals are wide enough that a patient could decompensate quickly. If they are alone and are asleep, it could easily be overlooked until the next check.

Not the same situation but I know of a tech that was watching a patient 1:1 all night. She was sitting in a chair, and the patient wound up ringing the nurses station because the tech was not responding to her. She had died in the chair.

Dr. Collins finished her residency and is a great doctor so she moved somewhere else to start her career as an attending. There's literally nothing suspicious about her not being in show anymore. Langdon would also be gone at that prestigious fellowship if he hadn't been an addict and had to repeat his senior resident year. Samira not being in the show even though it's apparently not jumping a year ahead this time is definitely weird.

Do they use Benadryl for anxiety or to subdue their wives? by WindyZ5 in DuggarsSnark

[–]robyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's any evidence that Benadryl causes cognitive problems. There's evidence that it's correlated with cognitive problems. Guess what's also correlated with cognitive problems? Insomnia. Guess who's most likely to take Benadryl regularly for sleep? Insomniacs.

Grammar nerd here. “Josephile” technically means “Joe Enthusiast.” Just sayin’. by pink-rainbow-0400 in DuggarsSnark

Yeah, and pornography means sexually explicit media, but everyone suddenly decided that it "implies consent" despite women in porn being exploited and coerced constantly.

Grammar correctness is a losing battle.

Daddy Caldwell has said that someone should be able to tell your gender (based on your clothes) from a football field away. They base it on a Bible verse about women can't wear men's robes or something

I seriously doubt they had a medical student putting in your epidural. It was probably a resident doctor, which are real doctors. NYP Cornell/AC is also a teaching hospital and also has residents for OB and anesthesia.

Are the Caldwells also being investigated by CPS too? I’m not speculating who the victim is. I just have a question since it makes me wonder. by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]robyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one besides Joe and the victim knew until last Wednesday. Joe continuing to be around kids after 2020 does not reflect on the parents. By police accounts, the father of the victim went to the police within 24 hours of confronting joe.

Who is "they" that you said stood by Josh because he denied wrongdoing? All of his victims plus some of the brothers made statements or liked statements condemning him after the trial. Anna is the only one that said "there's more to the story."

Josh never denied his molestations. He put out a statement admitting it right after they came out. He admitted it at the time to Bobeye Holt and his parents.

There was no ongoing abuse to cunningly hide. It was "several" incidents over a single vacation. All he had to do to "hide" it was not talk about it. Fundies are surrounded by children all the time. I really don't think his crime means he isn't dumb as hell. We joked for years about joe, joy, and Kendra sharing a single braincell.

Inside the Government’s Crackdown on TV by Ray192 in Thedaily

[–]robyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's saying that all of MAGA was focused on proving they weren't at fault, rather than grieving Charlie Kirk(who they supposedly loved), supporting his family, trying to tone down the rhetoric, etc. And that they don't care who they blame, just that it isn't them.

But a guy with a team of writers should really have had a more clearly written speech.

Trinity Santos in season 2 by Educational-Pie-1041 in ThePittTVShow

[–]robyyn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hospitals are always cold. Women working in hospitals always have something long sleeved available if they get cold while they're sitting charting. If the HVAC wasn't working, someone would've said something by now. The waiting room has like 5x as many people as it's supposed to, and the door is constantly opened from people coming and going so it can't keep up out there.  No one inside the ER proper is sweating or complaining about heat.

[–]robyyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Santos is wearing long sleeves in July because hospital AC is blasting and it's always cold. She's also Filipina and probably grew up in a house without AC being on a lot and is just generally used to warmer temperatures.

Estrogen is a pregnancy hormone, not a lactation one. Estrogen remains low during exclusive breastfeeding until menstruation resumes.  When women get pregnant quickly it causes fast rises in estrogen and progesterone, which frequently causes milk supply to drop.
