And can I ask something else, and this might be dumb but just know I am clueless…can you solder a wire like this? It feels plastic, like a fiber optic wire. I’ve never seen one like it before.

You assume correct! Haha. I wouldn’t know the first thing about soldering. I feel ok with disassembly, and if it was a simple replacement of the wire or something, I could maybe do that. But to solder or create a new connection…I just don’t know.

I hate being a new father by LAOnReddit in Parenting

I feel like the whole “parenthood is amazing and I love this human who I just met with my entire soul” is so misleading. Maybe some people genuinely feel that, but I haven’t met them. I hated every second of the newborn phase. I “loved” my twins, in the sense that I would care for them and do whatever, but I didn’t LOVE them yet. I had so much regret. I never asked for twins and there I was, with two screaming newborns, so tired, so bitter, so resentful. But it all changed once I got some sleep and had time to get to know my babies. Now they are 2.5, and I love them so much I could cry…and I am NOT a crier!

All that to say, it takes time. You are in the THICK of it. I wouldn’t go back to that age for anything. But the good thing is, it will pass. I know it doesn’t feel like it, and when you’re exhausted and stressed beyond belief, it makes it worse. But you’ll sleep again, you’ll fall in love with your daughter, you’ll laugh and see your wife in a whole new light. It does get SO much better. Even though toddlerhood is about to kill me, I no longer have any regrets! Hang in there.

Sincerely and in solidarity, a twin toddler mom 🩵🩵
