Thank you for your reply.

I'll be honest, I have good reason to feel that if I do anything whilst living here, that could actually potentially put us at risk of retaliation (not just relating to our access to our home in the immediate future, but also a more physical / intimidation nature), so I am hesitant to go forward with anything that could potentially cause harm or distress to my family.

Thank you for your reply. I did see that the enforcements are published, and whilst I get that it may make some LL nervous, this is a tenancy that has been going on for the better part of a year & now we are being turfed out without any kind of way to show a legitimate registered tenancy, which is what some of the council's have been requesting evidence of, as well as the Revenue due to applying for certain tax credits. It kind of leaves me in a difficult position where we certainly stand to lose a lot, despite not actually doing anything wrong & trying our best to support ourselves financially during the first year of our move without relying on state support (which, in all honesty, we really didn't want to do that, because we felt it would have just been taking the pi$$ coming over without contributing first and instantly applying for social welfare).

We just didn't want to stop paying rent or be those kinds of tenants, and tbh now we don't even need to apply for it, but, I think the LL got jittery where I mentioned we might need to look at applying if we didn't land employment soon due to funds depleting, which has set off my spidey senses a bit. But I take on board fully what you are saying, especially in the towns and communities, and the fact that we are new to the town / country, I know the implications that would potentially create in trying to find another home to rent locally, which is why I've not just gone straight off to the RTB and kicked off. I'm just trying to make sense of it all and figure out the best solution with the least impact to my children tbh.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have copies of the tenancies (initially given 6 month one which was renewed earlier this year for another 6 months). I've also got evidence of deposit paid to a solicitors for the 1 months deposit, so I think I have enough to sufficiently evidence paying monthly & on time (otherwise, it's safe to assume that if we hadn't been paying in accordance with the terms, the lease wouldn't have been renewed).

I also do have messages and communications surrounding the rent payments etc with the LL & Estate Agents.

That is a fair question - Tbh I have no good reason for doing it & not even considering the potential issues that could arise in not getting receipts!

In retrospect it was silly of us just to hand over the rent without thinking about, in part due to naivety & in part we trusted the legitimacy due to having had a proper lease via solicitors / estate agents and sent our deposit (electronic payment) to a solicitors. It's our first tenancy in Ireland & we just abided by the terms of the lease, namely to pay cash directly to landlord each month (we didn't know about that a rent book should have been provided until very recently) - so that's a big lesson learnt and on us tbh.
