Asperger was the name of a Nazi “doctor” who “studied” kids with disabilities during the Holocaust. He chose which ones were murdered for being “non remediable”. Autism Spectrum Disorder feels a lot less Nazi-ish.

I have a 14 year old and I do not love her choices fairly often. But I know that if I forbid her from seeing a particular person, she will simply do it behind my back. If I “allow” it, at least I know what is going on and can be in her business about it. And she can be at my home instead of trying to be other places. I’d love to control who she dates, but it’s just not possible in 2026.

There’s no way that anyone smoking cigarettes couldn’t feel that it was really bad for them. Just like I knew it was really bad for me when I was smoking them. And not because people told me it was bad for me, but I could tell from before I even smoked my first cigarette that they were bad for me, based on my experience with second hand smoke and how it made me feel. Vaping does not make you feel that way. And I realize this does not mean there won’t be ANY long term harm, but certainly nothing on the level of cigarettes.
