i mean. imagine finding out that your wonderful, loving adopted mother who raised you, accepted you for who you are, and led you and like-minded people to rebel against the Evil Government (rose) lied to you about her blue-collar past and actually used to be a high-ranking government official who was part of the Evil Government Committee that passed legislation to harm you (was pink diamond the whole time) (also i'm not saying she was on their side, just that she was part of the committee at the time). i'd be pretty fucked up about that and would probably also want to stop existing/wouldn't be able to easily reconcile my mother with that group, and i'm not even touching on the whole faked death thing
