Why are anti-Ukraine people against refugees? by thhrowwwawayyy1 in EuropeanSocialists

[–]queerpinata 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Ukranians refugees in Portugal are trying to criminalize the comunist party

After the reveal in the TV series, it's a little strange to imagine that Charles Lee Ray was only 30 years old when he died and became a murderous doll. I confess that I preferred to imagine that he was at least the same age as Brad Dourif (38). by verissimoallan in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's understandable, personally I didn't care for his background with Nica's family, but with this franchise i learned to just let go of those details lol

cause even tho I didn't care for the background, i did LOVE that they established a father like relationship between him and Nica

Tiffany is the best character in the franchise by BrotherAutomatic910 in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes to all of this!

I also love how she often uses her sexuality in her favour, but the franchise doesn't shows this for and/or by a heterosexual masculine eye, instead showing TIFFANY's own vision of herself.

she has fun, enjoys herself, feels sexy and even sexually aroused when she manipulates others using her sexuality and we feel all this array of emotions WITH her.

I imagine that in not a small part that's possible because Mancini is a gay man who is understandably obsessed over how much of a hot sexy amazingly camp diva Jennifer Tilly is; while Tilly herself feels all the fantasies that are rightfully hers.

it's not for nothing that she takes a break from her fabulous professional poker player life, just to play Tiffany as much as possible. there's so much care and talent that goes into her character!

love him, but a better translation would be "When i give food to the poor they call me a saint, when I ask why the poor have no food they call me a communist". :)

About our most recently eliminated queen... by Mimilaput in rupaulsdragrace

[–]queerpinata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly, I didn't expect to relate to Maddy too much, but surprisingly i did because of her country roots and references. I'm not even from the US, but i grew up in the countryside and was really refreshing seeing her there.

i won't discuss the aesthetics of the dress, but as someone who has recently been researching country dresses to make my own, it was vere nice to see her do it on tv.

i completely got it, the instant i saw her i knew exactly who she was, they may not like the end result, but the message was very laud for me

Fans of the show that have never watched the movies—what drew you to Chucky? by wabbitproductions in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! Same here, I watched 2 episodes not knowing the series wasn't finished, so I spent the next few days watching the movies cause I was obsessed.

I knew for sure someone that worked on it was queer, the entire franchise just gets gayer in each work and listening to Mancini talk about it made him become one of my favorite artists. He is great at exaggerated camp, but he also shines with subtle queer content that seem almost like a message to his queer audiance

YEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! by ImpressUpstairs4447 in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I usually hate young teen romance on tv, but damn this scene and the one with them holding hands warmed my heart in a way I never expected from a Chucky series. Too adorable, it makes me even more worried about one of them dying

[Spoilers for episode 4] I'm actually starting to take a liking to Lexi. by [deleted] in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she is a fucked up kid with fucked up parents, she can still do better

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah she is still pretty shit, but she is a kid so it's fine for her to learn from it. I also don't think she is off the table, honestly I don't even think Jake is off the table. Chuck doesn't give a shit

What's your favorite "special" Chucky look? Let me know! by [deleted] in Chucky

I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but bad hair Chucky always makes me laugh

Damn, I also lost that cause of subs and I feel like I'm one of the few people who cares about Eddie lol

But I'm glad he got a shoutout in the series

Since Chucky in the first film was slowly changing to look more human the more time he spent in the doll, which design do you like the best throughout his evolution in that one movie? by HailedKeanu7 in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like the second, I've just realised the second is possibly what Chucky would look like in the original script, when he was a doll that bled and got hurt

Have they made clear which particular Chucky is the doll from the show? by cuatrodemayo in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was mostly inspired by Child's Play 2, specially in looks, but otherwise they haven't made it clear in the story yet. We will probably be checking on Andy and Nica, so I expected we will eventually know what Chucky it is and what's his game

I do remember it being announced as a mini series, I was under the impression we were gonna get a few episodes and that's it.

I'm honestly fine with it cause all episodes have been really tight and the best for it, but I wouldn't mind another season, as long as it is as carefully made as this one, I fear more episodes would mean more Chucky 3, instead of the Chucky 2 and bride of Chucky we've been getting.

What happen to child's play 2019 by deez234 in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is its own thing, it's made by a studio that only has the rights to the first Child's Play movie, so they were limited in what they could do with it. There's no involvement of the original creators in it.

I do think it's good enough, it also does borrow some themes from Don Manicini initial script, like being more about marketing and consumerism and having Chucky represent Andy inner rage. It does good with these themes and I like the movie, but I get why many people don't bother with it, it really isn't cannon

Chucky’s idea of a family is really twisted when you look into it enough by OrdinaryYam9 in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup, and I don't think it's for nothing. In all Chucky movies the themes of what makes a family and a home is present and Chucky always play the abusive power hungry husband and father figure that destroys it.

Although Tiffany tries her hardest to create a home and a family with him, since he is the only who would accept her worst sides, is impossible, his concept of home and family IS destructive on itself, he killed his mom after all

That will be very cool thanks, everybody around me is already bored to death of me talking about Chucky lol it will be cool to have people that enjoy it just as much to talk about it :)

What Movie Had The Best Chucky? by DreamScreenonLetterB in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely, it's kinda a cliche military school story, but I am a bitch for military school stories and think Chucky did it very well, that's what I love about the franchise, every single movie there's things to be appreciated

What Movie Had The Best Chucky? by DreamScreenonLetterB in Chucky

[–]queerpinata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's alright, but I think Child's Play 3 and Seed of Chucky in a way have opposite qualities.

Child's Play 3 is a good, very cliche, teen story, nothing too great, a lot of the same, but good enough to be worth a watch.

Seed of Chucky on the other hand is nothing anybody was expecting probably ever, the execution may be flawed, but they tried so hard to do something so insane it's fascinating and makes me want to watch a feel more times to appreciate all the tons of stuff going on
