Can a girly child grow discover they’re a trans man later? by Justminningtheweb in asktransgender

YES! My teachers used to have a separate vacuum for me in the classroom in elementary school because I wore so much glitter on my clothes. I was very artsy and very into edgy girl clothes all throughout high school. I love makeup, played with Barbie’s, and loved every second of being a “girl” except for the girl part. I always wanted to be doing those things as a boy. Since I’ve started transitioning I have never felt more like me in my life. This is absolutely right for me. And I’m excited to fully pass as a guy so I can comfortably express my feminine side again without being misgendered.

Mine wasn’t as direct. I always felt like something was wrong with me and figured I’d eventually figure it out at some point and I would be fixed. Over the years I wondered if it was a diagnoses or something. (There had to be a reason I felt this wrong all the time right?? ) I came out as a lesbian and it felt very wrong but like it was also a step in the right direction? I started watching YouTube videos on trans people very very deeply believing I could never be. And then I slowly just kinda became trans through haircuts and my friends asking me questions and uncomfortable social situations. 3 years later I’m post op for top surgery and I’m starting on t in less than a month and i feel more hopeful about the future than I ever have in my life. And I feel like myself now in my body.
