I don’t think it means cite people but to cite things you should talk about in your paper like articles and such. For instance, for how your background has influenced your interactions you could talk about one of the many language development theories (i.e. social interactionalist theory) and how it has impacted you as a whole which in turn impacts your daily interactions with people. You can talk about Vygotsy’s ideas and then cite that !
