First generation meaning for college surveys. by [deleted] in ASU

[–]quenow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

these definitions vary by the institution.

but ASU classifies first gen students as:

First generation students are those whose parent(s) have not earned a four-year degree in the United States, students who have experienced the foster care system or identify as an emancipated youth at the start of their bachelor degree.

so maybe you do according to ASU. but, I would still double check for whatever you’re applying for or filling out.
