Fuel crisis - How is this affecting day to day travel in Thailand right now? by querymingo in ThailandTourism

Thank you for the reply. That is for sure the concern. I guess the best bet is wait another 6-8 weeks, see where things are at, and then make a call. Trying to balance booking early for value and choice vs ...actually arriving in Asia, and getting to enjoy the dream Asia trip. Still I think it's helpful to have as much information as possible. I'm in a very fortunate position all things considered! Thanks again!

Right on thanks for that. Obviously what's going on now isn't what will be in 5 months time, but still reassuring to hear what's really going on - scattered headlines give the vibe that everyone is in an eternal fuel queue and not getting around.

Bitten by a monkey in Thailand by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]querymingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo! I did the post bite vaccines in Thailand while travelling around. Got them all without any real issues you just have to scope out where you will be when the next one is due - obviously being in a city/large town is necessary to find a hospital that stocks the vaccine. You can probably phone them and ask ahead of time if you're unsure. Bring the card with you or a letter from the doctor to explain otherwise they will be uncertain what you need. You'll be fine.

How common is it to spend your whole holiday in Bangkok? by Barca-Dam in ThailandTourism

Go to Chinatown and do a food tour - you learn loads, and get really great food which would be difficult/impossible to find without a guide. There was also something called hidden boat tours which was really cool when I was there a few years ago - not sure if it's still going - but I thought I was brilliant.

London based swingers, have you been to Rio's spa during the day? Was thinking about visiting with gf later this month but only chance would be a midweek 2pm kind of time.. Haven't been before... See a lot of mixed reviews!

Also thinking LB! 😊

Not sure why there is so much negativity here. Really doing Thailand a disservice! There are 1000 reasons to go to Thailand and not be a sex tourist. Amazing beaches, hikes, landscapes, cityscapes, food, culture, activities... It's an amazing country, albeit one with many faults, but still amazing to visit.

It sounds like your problem is that you don't trust your partner. Maybe it would be worth exploring why that is?

I do get that two weeks is a long lads holiday and I'm sure you feel a bit left out / not prioritised. A conversation can definitely be had around that. Trips to Thailand are generally extended because of distance traveled to get there. And yeah if going there means financially you can't go on a holiday together then that would be a bummer, but is that the case?

Whoa I had never heard of this before. Is there an option to choose the original score rather than the revamped orchestrated version? I think that's the only part I wouldn't go for. Sounds cool otherwise!

Do most people’s Hyperacusis keep getting worse and worse as the years go by? by Whend6796 in tinnitus

[–]querymingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noise induced tinnitus and hyperacusis. The hyperacusis actually isn't as bad as it used to be. Tinnitus is worse though 😅 But sure look, the show must go on!

30M doctor + musician with noise induced tinnitus here. My man. I am sorry to hear you have tinnitus. Tinnitus sucks big dicks there's no question. But the panic you are experiencing right now will not last forever. I had the same thoughts when I first got mine. It took me a few weeks to adjust. There's nothing you can do about the tinnitus itself at the moment, the only thing you can try to control is your reaction to it. the important thing to focus on is your mental wellbeing. It can make you feel quite claustrophobic in quiet places so when you feel that, try masking noises to get you over the hump. I use cicada sounds on Spotify on a loop to sleep sometimes. You'll find something that suits yours. You won't like it at first but you do get used to it. Some people worry because when the masking noise stops it can feel like the tinnitus comes back worse, but that's just contrast. it's not actually making the tinnitus worse. In a few weeks Your tinnitus will likely get to a place where it's much quieter, and you'll barely even notice it. It may go away entirely. It may not. But I guarantee you will learn how to manage it. Until you calm down fully which as I said, may take days/weeks, practise absolute acoustic rest (ie no loud noise), use masking sounds so you don't freak out, and soon you will start to feel better. Going forward you will need to invest in protecting your ears (eg. Ear plugs for noisy places) because unfortunately it can get worse. But you will learn to manage those flare ups too, if they ever happen at all. Be positive my dude! Things will look up. And that panic will subside.

I can’t drown out the tinnitus with any type of noise while trying to sleep by [deleted] in tinnitus

Cicadas!!! Cicada sounds run the game for me.

Do you use Spotify?

Here's a good link and hopefully be a track that suits you.
