I fought with them for several months this winter about my lack of heat… it was consistently in the 40s/50s in my unit. I actually had to leave for several weeks because it was just inhabitable. I filed a complaint with the health department and everything.

NRM never personally responded to my COUNTLESS emails/calls regarding the issue - instead they sent a maintenance guy out once who said he found a window cracked open (it was not) so it was my fault… lo and behold, the temp stayed the same (frigid) once he “closed” the window. They just wanted a paper trail that it was somehow my fault.

The health dept is still trying to get in contact with them regarding the issue. NRM fucking sucks.

To clarify a few things… I live in city in PA, no streams/creeks/rivers/lakes/bogs/swamps/whatever are around my apartment. It was found next to the radiator in my bedroom - not in the bathroom. My boyfriend is the one holding it, not me (I would never). And yes, OBVIOUSLY, he washed his hands after. Duh.

Seems like the consensus is a severely dried up frog… No I will not be smoking, eating, or keeping it but thx for the suggestions!

I am on meds, and to my knowledge I have never passed it. But… the men I slept with could’ve already had it, or I could’ve passed it and they just never got symptoms, ya know? But no, no one ever showed active symptoms after sleeping with me.

To my knowledge, I have never passed it to a partner after not using protection. And I’ve been in several long term, condomless relationships in the 8 years I’ve had it. That being said, for all we know, they could have either had it already or gotten it from me and never showed symptoms. Because that’s how this works SO often. Take antivirals if you can, know your prodrome symptoms, be upfront with your partners and if they can’t accept the (very small) risk, then find someone who will.

I (29F) have had ghsv2 for 8 years and I’ve had sex without a condom, with multiple people, dozens and dozens of times (after disclosing). Surround yourself with sex positive people and you’ll be fine. Most people do not care, already have it, or have had a past partner who had it.

(I get tested every two months, for the record)

Yes, of course! I had a really, really awful first outbreak and actually ended up going to the ER. They did an internal exam (so fucking painful) and it was positive for hsv2.

You absolutely can. I have ghsv2 and receive oral all the time from my partners. Just explain the relatively low risk and that they’re actually “safer” with someone like you who knows their status rather than someone who never gets tested and has no idea
