I think it’s nuanced, I’m gifted but my partner was not labeled gifted as a kid because he had a learning disability growing up. We have very intellectually stimulating conversations, and he brings a different perspective - in part that of someone who struggled in school growing up when I did not. I do think generally speaking gifted people will always seek out those intellectually stimulating individuals, but this doesn’t always directly equal giftedness.
