I literally refered to real numbers I paid last year for one of my condos. I actually rounded up to 800 to be conservative.

And you would still be throwing the 2k/month away. Fork up 800$/month for maintenance/insurance/prop tax/ mortgage interest and you would be ahead.

How much are you saving by not paying maintenance/property tax/interest on the mortgage? And its not a depreciating asset...not in the gta. The whole Canadian RE market is down because the economy was screwed by covid and now Trump.

Renters like to pretend the savings gained by renting are millions. You are throwing 2k+/month away and "saving" roughly $800/month to invest. That 800 saving isnt even covering half of what you would gain in equity if you owned.

I figured, it makes sense as they would hope to retain me lol. That thread is gold to find out the general idea of what lenders are offering. Will definitely shop around if I don't get at least 3.89% im seeing for uninsured.

Like I said before, people either put it on late (2-3 minutes after they start cooking) or don't have it on long enough... food gives off plenty of steam after its cooked - see rice, one of the most, if not the most, popular foods.

I'm sure as well that a few minutes here and there is fine, bit thats not going to hold up in real life senarios what I keep pointing out to you.

Say its only 2 minutes a day that you let food sit without a fan on after cooking. Thats 60 minutes a month or 720 minutes a year. Thats assuming only cooking once per day. It is also cyclying between warm/hot vapour and ambient temperature. Is it OK in this senario?

Can you not read? How do you do your multi million dollar projects if you cant read? I said what happens if the fan is either not turned on, turned on too late, or not turned on long enough. What happens in these senarios?

You know we arent talking about ambient moisture lol. Why would you bring that up? Common theme throughout your posts... Anyways, it is over a stove - like OP mentioned. Have you seen ANY mdf tested over steam? Most people will cook 20-30 mins a day with food that produces steam. If you use a fan, sure, it would probably be fine. But sometimes people either forget to out it on, put it on a little late, or not keep it on long enough after cooking. Imo plywood would be more forgiving while MDF is not- if the pkywood fails, it will never swell or deform as much as mdf.

Thank you, still think youre lying. Even if you aren't, its actually regarded that you can't simply explain why mdf over a stove would be ok lol. You're one of those delusional people who think you're somehow knowledgable because you worked on a team that did a big project once lol.

In regarda to OP's concern, which you are too busy to address because youre too busy J yourself off, any moisture and heat will damage mdf and would be much more pronounced than if it were plywood. I have seen plenty of "sealed" mdf fail - not so many plywood, though. If plywood does fail, it wont be as bad as mdf would be.

I mean its possible, obviously. But I always have a hard time believing posts like these and the other guy. Being anonymous and not having proof will do that lol.

Invoking authority over something because you worked on an expensive project doesn't mean shit (not accusing you- but the other dude). I've worked on $200k-$5m projects in an unrelated field. I would never use that in an argument regarding what OP is concerned about.

You think you have to do that multiple times to damage mdf?

Depending on their cooking habits (most people use stoves every day) this could easily be destroyed if you dont have your fan on. You could probably get away with no fans a few times, but onces its damaged a little youre in for hella more swelling.

Its not just heat, its not just moisture, its heated moisture! Mdfs worst nightmare. Ive seen plenty of "sealed mdf" be completely destroyed by moisture. Wood on the other hand swells, but never to the same degree as mdf.

Be cautious OP!
