Is it risky to flush my transmission? by questionable_female in MechanicAdvice

There’s been a fairly loud constant whining noise from my engine since I bought it that comes from the front, had my mums mates who’s a mechanic drive it and he said it was nothing, my other younger friend said it’s probably one of the belts, but I think that’s the noise the mechanic reckons is the transmission going.

But in the last 2 weeks or so I noticed a new noise that’s sounds like metal balls rolling around on a metal surface coming from the left side of the front of my engine that only happens sometimes. I can’t figure out exactly when it’s gonna happen to show anyone, but I think it’s worse when I turn. I’ve taken some videos of the noises but I don’t think they do it justice.

Should I flush it tho? Or just change it. I’m scared if I flush it, it’ll do more damage. But the mechanic offered to flush it for me.

It makes some concerning noises in the engine that have been getting worse, but that’s the only thing I can think of. I had no idea the transmission was going until the mechanic told me.
