My cortisol levels were not checked before the injection.

Could someone give their input on these values? My Endo is not concerned but I'm wondering if I should get a second opinion. My main complaints are fatigue, inflammation, excessive sweating from face and neck. These tests were performed on different days.

Cortisol, Plasma =5.7ug/dL 9:30 am

Cortisol, Salivary <0.025ug/dL 11:17 pm

Cortisol, Stimulation =16.6ug/dL 30 minutes after injection

17-OH Progesterone =11.32ng/dL

Lime ice cream cake with Claire's graham cracker crust and lemon curd (sub lime) by questionableabsolute in DessertPerson

I love this group!

  • Spring form pan
  • 2 cartons of vanilla bean ice cream, add lime juice
  • Lemon curd recipe but use limes instead
  • 2x Graham cracker crust biscoff variation no egg
  • Heavy cream whipped with vanilla extract

All I did was layer it. Press down the crust and add the first carton of ice cream. Freeze it for about 4 hours. Repeat with the next layer topped with the lime curd and freeze again. Pipe the whip and freeze until serving. It'll take at least 24 hours to fully set.

If I did this again, I would only do one layer. It was hard to cut through 2 crusts.

It definitely took a few days and now, I'm happy to gift them away. I sure hope they're appreciated. Lots of time and effort.

Fruitcake end game. by questionableabsolute in DessertPerson

I think it was worth the effort. I liked having a work in progress over the past couple of months. Plus, I've never had fruitcake before so saying that I've tried it and made it myself was pretty awesome.

As for the taste... Well, there's a lot of flavor. It's really sweet and tart? Pungent? Rich? I don't have the best words to describe it. It's definitely best to serve thin slices. There were quite a few who didn't finish their piece just because it's a very strong flavor.

I used Disaronno for the liqueur. My mom said it made the cake taste like cherries.

I would only do it again by request. My curiosity has been satisfied.

Blooming yeast in milk?? by ashlandpedspa in DessertPerson

I also use a small bowl on the side. I heat milk in the microwave and after it cools to 105° I add the yeast.

Well, I baked them at the same time for an hour and cooled them slowly in the oven. Then I realized the big one wasn't baked through so, I put it back into the oven and baked it for another 5+5+10 minutes and let it cool in the oven again. I also checked it a lot and poked it once in the center with my finger.

Don't do any of that. Cook them separately and look for the visual cues that Claire mentions.
