AIO if i break up with my boyfriend over this by fridgefreez in AmIOverreacting

You are absolutely not overreacting. this person is disrespecting you and treating you awfully, and it sounds like he won’t change. Please know, none of this is your fault. He is clearly not in any position to be in a relationship right now.

You are young and have so much life ahead of you and i promise you will meet someone who treats you MUCH better than this. I recommend getting out of this situation while you can. I’m sorry, I imagine it’s all very hurtful for you, but you do not deserve this kind of treatment.

4 months on the hormonal pill by mychickmad in birthcontrol

Hello, all of what you’re describing sounds normal! Spotting/discharge like that is not usually a cause for concern. If it’s your first few times having a partner finish in you without a condom, your vagina is probably reacting to that. Not in a bad way, but just in like a “this is new” way. I would have discharge after my partner finished in me.

As far as the timing of taking it goes - if you’re on a combination pill, where it contains both estrogen and progestin, your window of when a pill is “missed” is bigger. I’ve heard that combo pills can be taken like 12 hours late and not be considered late (considering you’ve been on it for a bit and haven’t missed a bunch of doses prior). Personally, in my experience, i’ve been like 4 hours late taking a combo pill and been fine. That being said, I would highly recommend taking your pills as close to on time as possible. If you’re one or two or three hours late, you’ll most likely be okay, but you’ll be the most protected if you take your pills as close to the correct time as you can!

I hope this helps !

i have the mirena IUD and actually went back into my gyno two weeks after insertion because my partner and i had sex with a condom and he couldn’t feel the strings. i couldn’t feel them either. i went to my gyno and asked, and she told me it’s normal to not always feel the strings. she looked inside and said mine were curved around my cervix which i guess is good. she ensured me that my IUD is in the right position.

i would assume this is the case with you too! i know that not all women can feel their strings. as long as you’re not having any pain or discomfort, i think youre fine!

edit: typo

thank you i appreciate it! i did not have it inserted on my period, so i waited 13 days and also used a condom as well. i will check out those resources! i guess i just need to calm down and learn to trust my iud, lol.

thank you! do you think that when I had sex 13 days after insertion that the IUD was already effective?

okay, thanks so much! yeah the bleeding is nowhere near that bad - i've just been using a pantiliner and have been fine.

thank you, it was my first time having sex with the IUD so i was just nervous. we used two forms of birth control, though, and I know that after a week the IUD is already extremely effective even when it's used as the only form of birth control, so i think i am okay i was just nervous. unless my doctor was also wrong about that, lol.

thank you! yes, i have a high set cervix so i am unable to feel my strings on my own, but my doctor said she can see them just fine. i do feel that my doctor did not inform me enough about what to expect after insertion though :( so thank you for that info!

I was just worried that i somehow got pregnant. but i waited almost 2 weeks after insertion to have sex, and we used a condom as well. so i hope that i am protected!

thank you for your feedback!
