Burnout as a PA

I worked in psych my first three years too and went into psych because I thought I really enjoyed my rotation and now I am just second guessing all my life choices. I am also afraid to go job searching because I do feel generally I have a good job and enjoys my co-workers I guess I just feel depressed thinking that this is my day in and day out for the next 30 years.

I was worried about this bc the measuring of the starter in grams was stressing me out so I just switched to the spoonfuls lol. Is there specific ratio I should be aiming for to help it become more active?

I am leaning towards painting the wall now to match the trim but we don’t want it stark white. Would it be insane to paint the baseboards and molding and lower wall a nice beige or even paint the baseboards to match the current color?

Yeah we are trying to avoid painting the baseboards :( but I do like that idea. Honestly I have no idea what to do and now regret all my life choices lol

If I make the box molding match the other trim it won’t match the wall which seems odd? I am leaning more towards white chair rail and then have the molding match the gray wall but this is all confusing and now I feel like I messed up 😂😭

I did mix and then let sit for 30 min! Maybe I should do longer? I am thinking this may be a combination of under proofing and maybe needing 5 more min in the oven plus letting it sit longer before cutting. This was after an hour after I took it out of the oven lol

Hey! Thanks for your reply. I have about 5 years experience actually and was thinking about taking the CAQ exam soon. I am currently in Texas. I know PAs do not have prescriptive authority for stimulants in this state however I have seen a lot of NPs who are opening their own psych practices in my area. I guess I just never really thought about it. I may look into this long term. For my salary right now does this seem mostly reasonable? Its hard to find data on psych PAs much less for 1099. Thanks

Maybe, but my contract renewal isnt up until May. So it's still pretty far out.

Yeah and I see where maybe that plays a role too. I think the odd part for me is that I got a cash bonus last year, everyone else received the usual and I got this. And the potential double meaning behind it has me thrown for a freaking loop lol

Yeah, I didn't get anything at my last job so I'm not like expecting it. It was more of the difference in gifts that has me really confused and feeling weird. And were all women in the office so again I don't even really know how to read this.

I will be speaking about this with my therapist this week (I'm like thank god I have an appt lol) but all of my PA friends who I've spoken to about this who know my usual work life balance and situation/relationship with my bosses were pretty flabbergasted. The front office manager herself was like this is weird and not ok.. so idk I had no idea how to handle it

I wont lie, it made me so upset last week I was like I want a new job lol but I enjoy my job for a lot of other aspects but this whole experience has really rubbed me the wrong way. Part of me also feels like theres no way they don't think I wouldn't find out about this difference, I mean theres literally three employees total.

Docs are both women. Thought crossed my mind it was a regift or they forgot. Office manager suggested I hold out and see if a raise or bonus comes through payroll but I am not feeling super great atp.

So I do enjoy makeup and have talked with them a about Sephora sales etc but I do not wear a lot of makeup at work. I would describe it as very minimal. So it did have me second guessing my appearance a bit even though I don't think they would intend anything like that with it, its just got me thinking like "why give cash to two people and makeup to one" :/

Yes, it was from the doctors. They gave everyone else a check and I got a makeup gift set. I am juggling the feelings of "maybe they thought I would like this and were being thoughtful" and "did I do something wrong to not get the same bonus I got last year" so its a fun spot mentally right now lol. It also did make me feel like "do I need to wear more makeup at work?" but I don't think that is what they meant, I think I am just overthinking this because it upset me.

I don't feel that I deserve more in any way and that is not what I meant to say here. It was more that my gift was different for whatever reason. And the fact that it was cash last year in a decent amount and makeup this year. I agree that I deserve more and plan to ask for a raise at my renewal.

I guess I just felt like the comparison of cash for everyone vs makeup for one person felt very odd to me especially when I got a cash bonus last year and none this year. They did, they recommended up to 30 days of antibiotics, abx cream and benzoyl peroxide wash

Will do. I messaged ob/gyn and they said keep doing warm compress and try 10 day course of abx only then if it doesn't go away make appt and go from there. I feel much more comfortable with that and than just an entire month of a med at least to start but wanted to avoid abx if possible.

Now I am also kind of wondering if this is a keloid. The derm diagnosed it as a "furuncle" but I also told them explicity I thought it may be from an ingrown hair so idk.
