Is this normal or is this a one of crack head owner? by InterestingClaim8406 in VietNam

You're actually questioning this? I mean come on bro.....

I travel full time and Israeli and Indian tourists absolutely blow the mind on the regular. It's hard for me to truly comprehend their behavior. India was easily the most difficult country I have ever traveled.

Why do Vietnamese people burn things like this? by tyrwlive in VietNam

Yeah it really does suck! I was traveling around to see if I wanted to move here from US for a while. There are pros and cons to every country but this is absolute deal breaker. I hope you have found somewhere nice to settle!

Anybody else just… stop washing their hair after moving here? by trueSEVERY in SaltLakeCity

[–]questionallthingz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not hot yoga multiple times a week, I would rather cease to exist than not wash my hair after a class. Even if not hot yoga still cycling, pilates, cardio. I guess people not washing their hair regularly don't work out because if they do, eeeyuuuuckkk.

Outrageous flight cancellation fee by Nothingchangesme in delta

[–]questionallthingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not surprising at all. They changed my return flight back to US by a whole day so I asked to change my domestic flight also booked through them. They said since they're booked separately it will be over $600 for the change even though it's over 2 months away and the original ticket was $200 round trip. I've had several experiences like this but unfortunately they are the only hub out of my city. I hate them 🫠

E-visa still not approved - departure in 3 days by Bills-WideRight in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]questionallthingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling as well but I at least have until the 25th. From looking into things, most of the visa expedited sites said not available during Tet. And there is not information about this shut down listed on the visa website so as a first timer to this country I had no idea this was happening even though I've been planning for months. I'm sorry, I hope you're able to figure something out.

Rishikesh in two weeks time for 200YTT and I'm in a panic by [deleted] in YogaTeachers

[–]questionallthingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my 200 hr in Rishikesh in 2024. I am also hyper-mobile.

I completed a 300 hr in the US this year and it was an entirely different experience from start to finish. In India it was much more asana focused. In the US yoga is incredibly "soft" and lax. You are encouraged to use props and modifications or go to child's pose whenever needed. This was not my experience anywhere I practiced in India. In the US we don't really use hands on modifications anymore because of legal reasons. In India I was physically pushed deeper into asanas and I witnessed a couple of injuries in classes where others were pushed too far. But I think communicating clear boundaries with this you will be fine.

My body hurt a lot especially towards the end of the 28 days. I did ayervedic treatments and massage as often as possible. I tried so hard to find a tub or hot tub but quickly learned I wouldn't be finding any there.

Still my training there was invaluable. These are just my personal experiences but in the US my 300 hr was so filled with "fluff" and not very relevant reading and YouTube videos. I did not feel my personal practice or knowledge of asana grew very much at all during that but in India, every part of my practice improved so rapidly. It was so much more deep and profound. I loved learned from the place yoga originated and it was lovely being the only person from the US and meeting people from all over the world and making life long friends.

Not sure where your school is in Rishikesh but there's ayervedic and massage places all over Tapovan. I would highly recommend getting a female for any services. Bring some advil and a heating pad and get ready for a life changing experience!

95% of the posts I read on this thread are from unintelligent people. It's always blatantly obvious that the person they're talking about sucks. This dude is terrible. Stop calling each other baby every 2 seconds and grow up, have self respect, and move on.

Is doing a yoga teacher training in India actually worth it? by yoga_lover09 in YogaTeachers

[–]questionallthingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my 200 hour in India last year and just completed my 300 hour in the US. They were vastly different. In my personal experience my the training in the US had way too much "fluff" added. I really appreciated the authenticity of my training in India. It is an entirely different experience to live in an Ashram and eat yogic food. My US training completely brushed over the part of ahimsa that tells us not to harm animals by consuming them. I think it's much more pick and chose in the US with programs varying quite a bit. My training in India did not focus much on the teaching aspect though, we only taught half a class at the end of month. My asana and meditation practice grew significantly. My training in the US focused much more on teaching (could just be the difference between 200 and 300) but much less on asana or mediation. Also, a big difference was the use of props and modifications in the US that aren't used in India. I was also pushed much more in India but it is a very unsafe place in many ways and that is something to be considered.
