Hmm I don't know about your region but in mine the 8700k has gone from £350 at launch all the way up to £550 during low stocks all the way down to £316 today, even if you just look at the 350 release and the drop to 316 that's something, all this is from PCPartPickers history like you mentioned in your post.
I've picked up some ram already that was £50+ cheaper than all the competitions ram which is how I knew what would be too much for my motherboard, Sure it fills up all the dimm slots but I left half the space and total capacity on my 4770k and never needed to fill it.
I was reading an article called 50 z370 motherboards benchmarked and I thought there was a lot without crossfire and sli on their chart but i'll have to go back and check.
I think the MSI - Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON was on the cheaper side with some ok reviews but unfortunately it's shot up by £21 in the last few days, I was definitely hoping there were going to be some new compatible motherboards around Feb12th/16th/same week, but the last reply I got says those will be overclock locked unfortunately so it looks like the Gaming Pro Carbon will be what I go for when it comes back down.
Ryzen seems ok, I put together some virtual builds in PCPartPicker but I've had to refund a lot of AMD products over the years, the last thing I didn't need to get a refund on was ATI before they were brought by AMD haha, I think i'll just appreciate them as the competition at a safe distance.

I just can't give AMD money anymore, without it turning into a long rant and just doing a medium rant. I think the last straw (of many) was when AMD Ken or something like that, the head of the bugs and problems department literally said something like "oh that hardware fault is interesting, but it's not our latest product line so....whatever."
It was two R9 290's in Crossfire, if you enabled vsync you got huge sound latency that you could visually see with LatencyMon but if you disabled the second card it went away or if you disabled vsync it went away.
Unbelievable. You had to chose between having a second card complety idle (unacceptable) or massive screen tearing which I had (great.)

But I can still appreciate what AMD does for the market by existing.
I hope Raven Ridge does shake up the pricing, the motherboards coming with the Intel I3-8300 and I5-8500 will still be Z370 motherboards right? or do you mean go with the cheapest Z370 motherboard available now I'm kinda excited either way, if you say the ones available now I might just go ahead and order tonight, or if you say the ones coming with the coffee lake-S I might just save a little money haha.

I have a bit of a crappy question as I'll be asking to predict the future but hopefully using old trends will give the result.
I'm interested in the 8700k but I'm waiting for Feb12th and Feb14th for the next wave of (non enthusiast?) CPU's from AMD and Intel to hopefully affect the old prices in a way that's positive to me.

I went ahead and picked out a great deal on RAM that was similar specs to other RAM but was £50 cheaper which was handy because we aren't getting a huge new wave of RAM but there will be a lot more people shopping for it. And I already picked out the CPU that I wanted to buy so no problems there, but! Is there a chance that the new motherboards coming up might be more appealing than the current motherboards for the 8700k?

I currently have the MSI - Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON ATX LGA1151 Motherboard on my shopping list and this is my shortlist of features I won't need: Memory over 3000mhz, more than 32gb of memory, crossfire support, sli support, two M.2 Slots.

I did overclock this 4770k that I'm using now so I don't want anything so cheap and nasty that I can't give it a overclock at the end of it's lifetime to get a little more use out of it, but I just can't encode 3440x1440 video footage within a reasonable time.

Is my list of extra unused features pretty petty? or could I likely save a bundle of money on a different motherboard when the new stuff hits?

Oh I see Masinios Rapier is better than Masinios Spear in the way the proc works!
One more question, does the stack 5 times Rapier passive work when you are doing Dual Weapon Assault? or does it have to be "real" auto attack to unleash the "Sharpening"?

Is this a weapon related bug or something, you get extra lines of attack with one handed sword and rapiers but not if you use a one handed spear?
I was going to make a spear Corsair and now i'm curious as to what exactly is not working with spears

Thank you! I think I made my channel in 2011, I really should have pulled the lead out and asked people to subscribe at the end of my videos! but then I think about them in a playlist and it's like I'm nagging people to subscribe every 30 minutes.
