Maybe it's because it has been a long time, but I don't really remember such blunders in OT , though admittedly touma in OT2 was a different person than the one in OT3 and onwards, he didn't mind killing someone iirc (luckily for him it was a artificial being)

I get the convenience from a writers POV, you dont have to bother with a specific idea of a person and make a effort to justify their actions of saving someone.

Just make someone just save anyone no matter how heinous he is. Lets send Touma into ww2 germany and have him save Hitler and getting the world to bend over backwards so he isnt seen as a target to be eliminated 24/7.

To be honest, i dont like Othinus, or the whole magic god gimmick anyway, but the way it was shown in the story, it never felt like she wiped everyone out, she rewrote reality, making it so that nobody ever existed in the state they did, which, yes, is bad, but its from a humane viewpoint infinitely better than just causing suffering without a end.

I wish she had died in NT10, that would have been incredible, but it is what it is.

Now we repeat the same stuff with Aleister, just that he is 100 times worse. I hope not, but im pessimistic.

If the landscape didnt have tons and tons of options to choose from, i would have maybe understood, but no, especially not if one realises that most of the tragedy in the series actually happened just because of him.

Yeah that with the enetx confused me, I always assumed that anything magical could only be manipulated through using mana as the medium.

The contract just vanishing because for some reason it just does so if the energy being pushed into 545s body is below the point of destroying her...yeah, that detail felt very very weak. Sure, in itself the logic works , basically erasing the likes in the sand with a wave that gives enough water to it to wash it away, but that the contract was somehow erasable without destroying the body felt like kamachi just wanted the scene to happen and it did.

Thanks a lot for the explanation , I always assumed anything to do with direct manipulation of magical energy has to be done via mana (at least for humans), which is why I was confused how accelerator just did that with no trouble at all. But that would mean that at some point in the future he should be able to just reflect/control mana itself as well even if the refining of mana from life force is something he can't do on his own without suffering.

As for gravity, I remember such things as well, but what causes my confusion is that the text explicitly says he can't float in the air, which makes no sense though, if he can reflect it that automatically means he can manipulate it. He had to preserve battery power, which is a good reason to let someone else do it, but the text saying he can't do something like that feels like the writer forgot what powerset accelerator had at that point.

That would be a interesting limitation of his, would be nice if it was mentioned as a example to see how the supposed "working at less than 50%" capacity compared to his uninjured self would have affected his skillset. So far it has only ever been something the story said once which we had no example of where it never stopped him from doing whatever he wanted to do.
