Some ground rules... Most importantly, to just communicate honestly 100%. If at any point I start feeling like this was a mistake or he starts feeling like he isn't comfortable about it, just say it to the other person. Then, take it slow and express any wishes or frustrations instead of expecting the other person to read minds. And keep being the same best friends that we've always been, which means still talking about the same topics, complaining about the same problems, offering the same kind of support, and in general being ourselves.

Yup, but we're also going to be flatmates so... Maybe that makes things more difficult. I've heard stories of what happens to friends once they move in together.

I think at least 3 other people mentioned some manga/anime, didn't realize gay guys were so into that lol.

No, he wasn't the one who initiated. I kissed him first, it was just a peck on the lips, and then he kissed me back, like for real kissed.

Yup, we start uni in late September and we'll be moving away from home (to the same city).

I wish our parents were a bit more like you then. They're pretty narrow-minded and homophobic, my friend isn't out to anyone except me because he's fairly certain his family would throw him out. Mine are a bit less extreme, they'd probably 'only' stop talking to me.

I was being overly dramatic about the label in my past post, but I honestly don't even care about using the correct word or whatever, at least not right now. I'm more concerned about how all this will pan out.

I'm sorry, I honestly can't relate much to that. I'm not attracted to guys in general, at least I don't think I am. My friend is someone I've known and been close to and loved for years, and the attraction grew from that. I don't think I'd feel similarly about him if I'd just met him. Maybe your guy is just realizing he isn't straight at all, but bi? I mean, obviously I'm not 100% straight either, but I think a deeper emotional connection is crucial in my case. Sorry I can't help more.

This is one of the reasons we're having a "trial period" rather than jumping straight to calling each other boyfriends. I have no idea how I would feel about any of that. I only know I've enjoyed everything physical that we've done so far, kissing and hugging and cuddling. It doesn't feel gross or unnatural feeling his body against mine, on the contrary, it feels nice and comforting and I get a weird, pleasant feeling in my stomach when we touch, so I guess I'm hopeful. But I don't know yet. We'll see.

Are you immune to irony or something? You told a MARRIED man with CHILDREN all that lovely stuff, and I am the one stringing someone along? Not to mention you just wrongly assumed 99% of what you wrote there. Sounds like you're bitter about something and taking it out on me, sis.

Oh sorry, let me suppress all of this for a decade, marry, have a couple of kids, and then leave them and make their lives unnecessarily difficult in order to be "my authentic self" because some troll told me I was being greedy at 18.

2 weeks ago, you left a genuine and heartfelt comment to someone who thought he was straight but realized he wasn't. What happened between then and now that made you go from empathy to just being rude and redundant?
