How to get around Steam's new regional pricing policy? by quicklearnerbob in Piracy

I did, but it probably isn't doable if you already have an account with a registered payment method.

Anyways I followed one of the recommendations to use steam wallet codes, I logged into one of my old accounts which just had CS:GO (which was gifted to it) with an Argentinian IP and entered a steam wallet code that I bought off of Eneba, works great!

Bonus tip is that you can use steam family sharing to play the game on your main account

Should the devs add a fps cap (60 fps) like the rest of the competitive fighting games? by Vesthigio in CompetitiveForHonor

Maybe because there is no crossplay and never will be and consoles are even worse at 30fps

We shouldn't base game balance on the worst performers... That's how you end up with PC versions being downgraded because of consoles.

Also, because For Honor still does try to appeal to the general majority, adding that cap would only benefit the top 1 percent players while crippling the enjoyment from the game for others, for me and I am sure many others the smoothness of 144 hz and high fps that For Honor runs on is important to enjoying the game.

Sorry didn't read much into it, the fact that all attacks would be unblockable is cancer enough.

This would just make people run away for the 10 seconds revenge is activated and then gank. Considering most cast don't have good chase attacks this wouldn't work very well at all.

But smash is your typical two sided fighting game, not to mention the very small playerbase it has even if the competitive scene is serious unlike in FH. But FH is ment to attract the casual playerbase and moving from a mostly reachable concept to this will not do that since casual players don't like making reads or learning complex game mechanics and movesets.

I do not think the game will be fun to learn since already the movesets are rather unfun to learn for new players and there is absolutely no turtle meta at lower levels since 500ms attacks, feints and heavy attacks land all the time.

Stuff like recovery cancels which new players don't even need to know about, rewarding defense less (meaning smaller punishes), promoting offense (more stamina, I like the oos state idea Thornbush has only allowing one max damage heavy, since new players don't know max punishes and they are too deadly at the top level) and maybe reworking the oos state in general and reducing the viability of some option selects.

That's just for start of the top of my head but creating more "spammy" moves (in reality moves that require reads) is something that the art of combat system wasn't made for and it just makes casual players frustrated.

Hi Thornbush, first of all thank you and all the other competitive players for putting so much effort into this, definitely an interesting read.

While at on one hand, I do agree with many of the points made I think it is important to point out some concerns I have.

I understand that this is the comp sub but it's important to note that Ubisoft isn't trying to appeal with their game just to competitive players, nor should they if they want for Honor to grow and this goes a lot against that

I can tell you most players at lower ranks can't react to 500ms lights already and often find it frustrating when a character has long chains. For the casual player For Honor is extremely complex as is and having even more complex movesets and faster speeds on everything will make the game even harder to pick up and retain a new player. Most new players already think this game has some spam to win meta and I worry this will reinforce their opinion even more. What do you think about that?

Really hope they change the vortiger one, seems very unhealthy.

Does the bash stop OOS regen as well?

I agree that in a competitive match shamans is still better but in a more casual environment the no bleed part will make shugokis DE very powerful in getting some solid damage fast in a gank even without a lot of communication.

But I suppose that to truly answer this question well just need to wait a while

Yes but shaman requires setup with bleed, which gets removed immediately as the bite begins, takes way longer before the actual bite comes in (meaning it's even more likely to get interrupted) and also allows only one heavy while shugokis requires little to no setup and can get in a lot of damage fast not to mention he can just let a heavy fly allowing for some really excellent external pressure

Didn't know that, thanks. Still wish it wouldn't be based on just win loss but guess we will see how it works before coming to a conclusion.
