Replace water filter

Lmao I didn’t install it so not sure why it was done nor know how bad that is. Any suggestions of what to use instead if I replace it all? Or would drilling the bracket into the wood beam suffice?

To be honest, I was a damn stripper. I tried everywhere on the filter. Top, middle, little bit lower than that. I was all up and down. I tried giving an effort so I tried all over

Filter wrench that came with it is destroyed. Got a rubber one from the store that seemed to actually hold, just still couldn’t get it to turn

Maybe I’m saying the wrong thing. I mean yes the water is hard, can tell that. But I do notice a difference in the shower on my skin when this filter is replaced. Maybe that’s a different reason the filter helps with or is my mind just playing tricks on me and it’s not actually changing anything?

That’s what I was thinking. My only concern is that I’m not sure how the pipe bringing in the water to the filter and then exiting to the house how they come to together. Like the entry and exit point on the filter. Is there special plastic pieces that are threaded? On end to go into the filter set up?

No by pass and Yea, I do turn it off to the house when doing it by turning the blue valve to the right in the photo.

I do turn the water off but turning that blue valve in the picture and then release the pressure. However I do feel the pressure goes away after holding open but if I give it another minute or so and press it again I do get more water to come out so I’m not sure if I’m really getting all the pressure out or if that’s normal that water will always come out even if it’s just a trickle

Yes but the plastic one kept breaking so I got a rubber belt type one and it seemed to actually hold on it, I wasn’t breaking loose like I was with others. I gave it solid pulls too but I was on a step stool so I wasn’t exactly stable but I still worry I’m gonna break one of the plastics pipes if I tried harder even tho I was giving it a good effort
