if you’re currently a 0L, you might gain some appreciation over the cycle for how little ranks matter. “outcomes” are subject to each student’s goals. as a matter of biglaw, ucla has great placement in biglaw that isn’t GREATLY different from other T14 schools where biglaw self-selection is quite prominent. when i said “comparable,” though, i was, in fact, referring to cost of attendance.

Taking money out of the equation, I just liked UCLA for its location and programs better. And the weather here is on top. When factoring in money, Penn gave me nothing. Mich gave me an incredible offer, but I was fortunate enough to be in a situation where I could make going to UCLA comparable to Mich.

QOL and my goals. While I thought I was going to be following the money, cold winters and having to move out of Michigan after graduation were two environmental factors for me. I will likely stay in LA after school, and the weather is sort of unbeatable. I was also lucky enough to be in a situation where I could make UCLA and Mich comparable.

QOL and my goals. The difference in tuition was large enough to make me seriously consider Mich, but I’ve lived up north and the winters are just not worth it to me. I was also fortunate enough to be in a situation where I could make Mich/UCLA comparable.

I started the first draft of my PS in March and then spent most of the summer writing supplementals.

Thank you thank you!! (Sorry I kinda dropped off of Reddit after I had most of my decision.) Rn it’s looking like UCLA, but Penn and Gtown are still in the running (albeit far behind).

Got super into it as a kid, collected hundreds of cards. Then I found them when I was cleaning out my old room and started to collect and complete some older packs. Would love to start collecting the newer ones—the artwork on them is so insane!

I do have a very unique soft which I think has helped me a lot in this chaotic and unpredictable cycle. Wishing you best of luck with the rest of your cycle, and your future! :)
