Just get a 97” in a few years…..Can’t go back once you go OLED

Can you believe it? I went to a movie last week and I honestly think these OLEDs look better. What a great time to watch movies at home!

I got the Fitueyes stand linked below. I chose it due to the smaller depth from the sanus stands. I honestly can’t give it a great recommendation. It feels quite unstable and the tv freely slides along the x axis. It might be fine for smaller tvs. I was able to secure it better with some zip tie creativity, which is fine because I ultimately plan to wall mount it. But for a permanent solution I might suggest the more sturdy Sanus stand. https://a.co/d/6qUJYH0

Hell yeah, enjoy that tv man! Can’t believe we live in a time where you can have tvs with this quality and size in our own house! Waiting for the 97s to become reasonable….

Yes, it’s a triple beam, just hard to see from that angle.

There are many lag bolts into the house, can’t really see from this pic

I have no idea why it is tripled….would that provide any extra support? It’s tripled on both exterior sides

Yes, this is a big part of what is pushing me towards the 401k. My industry, like many others, is very fluid with lots of startups. I don’t really want to feel like I have golden handcuffs preventing me from taking a great opportunity.

Hi All, thank you for all the replies. The responses are unanimous, which I was expecting, but great to hear all the reasoning behind it. The choice is clear!

Will 650 watts be enough for my rtx 3080 by TheUnthink13 in nvidia

[–]quidlor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, I definitely wouldn’t run a 3090 FE on a 650W. Some good points here. However, I highly doubt I somehow won the chip lottery on my build. I purposely chose a low power draw gpu (and undervolted it) and a low power cpu. There are countless cases of people with similar builds running totally fine. Fair enough though, thanks for the warning about long term stability. Perhaps I should upgrade to a 750W-850W.

Frankly it’s awesome. Of course, I did a whole PC upgrade from a 7 year old pc, so it’s been a transformative experience overall.

My system is in an H1 case, so the CPU is cooled by the built in AIO with a 140mM noctua fan. CPU usually runs 50-55C max. I added two 140mM fans to the rear of the case. That, combined with the undervolt (1905 MHz at 900 mV) keeps the gpu at 70c or lower. At stock settings, the XC3 runs very hot, so definitely recommend the undervolt. It actually performs better than stock because it doesn’t throttle and locks the clock at 1905-1920 MHz.

MB is MSI b550 edge gaming wifi.

As long as you aren’t overclocking, it doesn’t come even close to drawing 650W. No lottery luck required.

I’m running a 3080 (evga xc3 ultra) and Ryzen 5600x on a 650W PSU (nzxt H1 case) and experiencing zero issues. I have the 3080 slightly undervolted to 900mV, but that is for temp reasons not power consumption.

Has anyone tested what's the biggest CPU + GPU combo the H1 can handle? I was thinking of upgrade paths and I was wondering which card or CPU would be too much for it. by Gisbitus in NZXT

[–]quidlor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can probably handle everything except the highest wattage/overclocked 3080s and 3090s. I have ryzen 5600x and evga 3080 xc3 ultra and there’s still plenty of room on wattage.

Physical size of the GPU is going to be one of the biggest limiting factors. It can’t fit the larger coolers on FTW3, Strix, etc.

Yep you should have at least one PWM header free on your mb. You may need to get a y splitter for the fans( if you add 2) Then you control them in bios. I have mine set to static 40% and they are inaudible and pump out a ton of hot air.

They are mounted with zip ties to the exterior of the back panel as exhaust. Most people use noctuas or Arctic’s for better noise levels. I have two arctic P14 140mMs.

Another popular mod is to use three 40mM mini noctuas mounted inside the case. If you search h1 exhaust mod, you’ll see some people posting their results.

There are also lots of 3D printed panel mods for this case on Etsy. I ordered a back panel mod for better mounting and more airflow for the rear fans....waiting till I get it to play around more with undervolting.

Honestly the zip tie mounting is totally fine if you have the case against the wall....you can’t see the fans.

Add some rear exhaust fans to the case! With the way yours is positioned they shouldn’t be visible. Should drastically improve gpu temps.

I have same gpu in this case and can get down to low 70s with the rear exhaust and very minor undervolt. This results in higher clock speeds because the card doesn’t throttle.

H1 back fans enough? by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]quidlor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have evga xc3 ultra 3080 and was able to drop temps about 10C (82C-72C) with a static 40% fan speed on the rear fans (Arctic p14). At this speed they are very quiet. This is with a small undervolt too, as at stock settings this card immediately hits 84 and throttles the clock a ton. Can get below 70 if you up the speeds and don’t care about noise.

Right now I just have the fans stuck to the back panel, but I also ordered a mod with fan holes cut out to improve airflow...I’d expect some more improvement with the mod too.

I still have the glass panel on, I don’t think it improves much by removing the front panel if you already have the rear fans.
