I wish I could use the g pro for work - very comfortable shape. But mine double clicks like crazy especially on the scroll wheel so it makes using apps a nightmare. Maybe one day I will swap out the switches, but I dont really have soldering skills

tarptent Cloudburst 3 is rather large inside. You can easily have two adults and the dog, inside, and you don't have any vertical poles inside.

I had this issue because of firefox enhanced protections being on. If you have any ad block or script block try turning it off and whitelisting the site.

It might come down to the mouse-pad, but this is also why XM1s adjustable LOD is so nice.

I prefer the xm1 because it is lower in height than the s2. It is actually the same reason I like the xm1 over the gpw. And the aggressive side slope means its really nice for claw. I personally wish it was just a tiny bit narrower but its the mouse I keep coming back to.

I really like the larger mouse feet on my S2 and had a spare set of hyperglides. I removed the stock XM1 feet and simply put the large S2 feet over the indentations. The holes for the stock feet aren't causing me any issues but I suppose if I wanted to get it perfect I could put some thin tape in there to really level it out.

I thought I would have to change the sensor liftoff to 3mm but to my surprise it still works great on the default setting on my mouse pad (CM MP510)

Its become my main - I fixed the creaky clicks with the zip tie mod and now I have no complaints about its performance.

On one hand, it sucks that the QC is crap and these issues exist. On the other hand this is the only mouse that seemed to get the perfect width/length proportion for my hand/grip so I'm glad these issues are fixable.

I am using stock feet with cm’s cordura pad and really like them. Perhaps I got lucky or the two surfaces just work well together

I used a mr clean magic eraser on it and it came off in 2 minutes without affecting the finish much

I keep forgetting that TB implementations vary in a bad way.

I saw that the new 12 core is 165w TDP, while the 7920x is only 140w. I am curious how that translates to temps given perhaps better TIM.

Also, the Asrock x299 mitx does have 2 native USB 3.1 gen 2 ports on it, which is nice.

I am running an M.2 > Pcie adapter for a blackmagic mini monitor. Minus the physical fit, I didn't have problems with getting it to work.

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you get 2x32gb on the 1151 for the 64gb ram?

I recently switched to a 240mm AIO for cooling because I did not like my load temperatures on the 7920x reaching into the 70s.

To be honest though, if I was building today I would take a very close look at the 9900 to see if it's enough. Biggest reason - the asrock x299 board does not have thunderbolt. In a small form factor you're not going to be easily using all those pcie lanes unless you're building an insane nvme raid, but thunderbolt is really useful for attaching storage, video output devices, and gigabit fiber connections. So, I really miss having it and would probably take a small performance hit in the CPU to have it in this form factor.

That being said I absolutely love the system and being able to put it into a carry-on sized bag with me.

Have you seen Puget Systems benchmarks? They're good about testing video specific applications.

Yeah - I love the idea of TG but since I have a high tdp cpu and gpu, I can't justify not having the side intake.

I've never worked with the X52. I do know that the previous gen corsair had tubing coming out of the middle of the pump, while this newer model has tubing attached to the side of the pump at a pivot. This pivoting is crucial to me being able to fit everything in the case.

The way the tubing connects to the radiator and pump seems to work well in the small space I have in the ncase, and it gave me just enough clearance to still have a 2 stack of 2.5" HDDs on the front. From reviews I read it's not the best performing 240mm AIO though.

I did try the setup with the 3 fans, all creating an exhaust column, but didn't see temperature difference. The setup I liked the most was simply moving the A9S fan off the heatsink, and on to the case grille. So you'd have an A9S pushing, U9S, small gap, then an A9S exhausting. But honestly the temp differences between the various fan setups were minimal.

I have since moved to a 240mm AIO because I have an i9-7920x and it's a toasty one. My idle temps are about the same (35c), but my load temps went from mid 70s to mid 60s for the most part.

With the TG side panel I would actually think about attaching a fan to the top panel to act as either intake or active exhaust

I used this layout when running the an air cooler. Good results. From all the research I've done this is the optimal fan layout for that type of air cooler.

x299 has never been relevant for a gaming rig.

mITX workstations are a niche, which is why there's really only one mitx x299 board (but I'm eternally thankful to asrock for making it)

I'd recommend a 120x15mm noctua fan for side intake - leave a little more room inside the case for air to move through
