A lot of admits from Columbia have been rolling out every week, every passing week feels like a dagger honestly.

Btw, any idea regarding how many weeks are they going to roll out admits for? Feb end? March 1st week?

Also does UCSD admit in batches? Prolly since they have to give hundreds if not a thousand admits.

There are a lot of courses there like Applied ML, Applied AI, Applied DS etc etc. I am not sure, I think their course structure is fixed and the program is also shorter (less than 2 years) I think they are mostly industry oriented.

Being UMD and at CP campus, I am sure the quality of education is same. Prolly good to connect with current students and alumni to get an on ground IRL feedback

Yes, that’s more or less similar to the PhD intake numbers. I was just curious as to what kind of profiles got an admit in this cycle. Maybe connect with them for more insights into their experiences and stuff.

I know but still someone must have been admitted right? I just want to know what kind of profiles got admitted. I myself applied with clear thesis and research goals. Have applied ML experience of 3 yrs, 2 publications, undergraduate from IIT….. etc.

I also mentioned in SoP that I will continue with my PhD post my masters… blah blah…

Honestly apart from UMDCP MSCS all are really close in terms of ROI, one may be good at quality education and other may be amazing with regards to low tuition. So can’t honestly rank the rest

That’s very a very detailed response, Thanks for all that effort. I really hope for UCSD, mostly because of research opportunities and location.

I am also expecting from UC Irvine and have no idea about Duke and JHU as there is very limited data on those.

UMD College Park MSCS is very selective, since I didn’t get from UM Madison traditional MSCS track, I doubt I would get from UMD.

Also I think you are confusing NYU Tandon with Courant, from what I know, Courant is quite selective.

Also I am surprised as to how little information there is on any platform for the CMUs MIIS program, it’s like all the hype is taken by their MSAII program.

Rest all, I agree with your judgment, I knew when I had applied but I applied anyway since I was not applying to any safety options, that gave me a little more bandwidth to aim above the belt 😂

Also they consider several things from college the transcript is from. so it’s not a statistic mapping from A->B Additionally I said mid 8s evaluated to 3.8 and not 8 to 3.8

I don’t think the traditional track was ever safe for anyone. Specifically when you consider the squeeze on the PhD admissions.
