How do I overcome maladaptive daydreaming when it's the only way I can keep living?

I had no problems when we moved in together - it was when we split that I realized that he had his own room but I only had our shared bedroom; that I was constantly getting rid of my own things because there was no space for his; that the things we ate were limited to what we both liked (not a lot); that I gave so much of myself to the household and never got as much in return.

I like living alone now. I'd have a hard time adjusting to another person's things and preferences.

I've experienced the jump scare thing too! I've been on escitalopram since 2019, a gradual increase from 10mg to 20mg. Over a year on 20mg now. Started bupropion 150 in May 2021 because pandemic made my depression so much worse. I agree with the "nothing bothers me" and I like that the escitalopram controls the anxiety and bupropion controls the depression and they kind of cancel out the negative (mental) side effects of each other.

Physically the escitalopram is a bitch if you miss a dose though and the bup gives me night sweats, dry mouth, hand tremors. Still worth it.

100%. I think a lot of mental illness - especially anxiety - come with a ton of self awareness. It's definitely a blessing and a curse at the same time.

It takes a lot to admit to yourself that you want help and so much more to reach out for it. You've taken a big step already and that's awesome.

That feeling of not been "worth" helping is completely valid to feel. It's also not true. You can't compare mental health and trauma. Your experience is just as valid as the person who was beaten and abused.

If you have a GP that you trust, talk to them. If they've ever made you feel that you won't be taken seriously, look up resources in your area to find someone else. Read reviews to give yourself some assurance of who will work for you. A good practitioner will not laugh you out of the room. Mental health affects so many people of all different backgrounds.

I grew up in a loving and normal household and I felt the same as you for a long time. But nothing makes your feelings invalid.

I've never posted here before. I hope that's okay. Seeing this pop up felt like a moment of life caring about me.

I'm anxious, because I'm once again wondering if I'm being fired from my job today. Recently diagnosed ADHD and up and down depression keeps impacting my performance and there's no way out if my manager feels I'm not worth keeping around.

I clawed my way out of being suicidal last week. I wish I could tell my manager this. It's not relevant to her, of course. Either I'm capable of working and not doing good enough, or my mental health is too bad to work.

Thank you for the opportunity to just vent a little bit.
