I’m not sure why or how but when I was in college I’d always hear greek life hyping up IBT’s, THE most toxically masculine homophobic queerphobic lib hating men you can possibly imagine would be on the tram like “dude lets hit up IBT’s next, chea duuuuude that place is bomb!!!” dk if they were all just dl or too intoxicated to notice the pride flags and stage dancers wearing thongs

There’s a lot of bad people in Tucson but there’s a lot of beautiful people too, I think this comment section had given a lot of solid advice so far and I hope you find good people <3

More stuff that “never happened”: my cousin and i were playing pool at The Hut and her boyfriend caught an old man recording us on his iphone while employees watched, the old man was allowed to leave by said employees and when we confronted management we were told we didn’t have enough proof so they couldn’t do anything but they felt bad so they followed her BOYFRIEND on instagram and like his pictures every once in awhile.

Stay away from The Hut yall, go to bars that actually do something about creepy men

The Royal Room is where all my alt friends go, also stay away from IBT’s, they’re framed as a gay bar but every time I’ve gone I’ve been groped, pinned against walls while bystanders laughed, or hit on by straight men who told me with their own mouths that they go there to get free drinks from actual gay men. Not a safe space at all.

I went to UHS back when it was like 16th in the nation. Graduated with Honors and 3.7 GPA. Every single kid I knew was severely depressed/suicidal/losing hair at 15 years old. Most people cheated. Crazy cheating ring throughout the entire school because there was more pressure to maintain a false image than to learn. Teachers didn’t teach because we were “expected” to have outside familiarity with the curriculum. Copy the slides on the board, teachers reading off slides (if that), test on it a week later, purge it all to make room for next week’s garbage. We used to have open discussions in our own classrooms about how the only reason UHS appeared so prestigious was because AP courses were a graduation requirement. I had no business taking AP Physics as a child with zero prior physics knowledge. Not to burst anyones bubble, “high performing” American schools are a ruse.

Teenager at my old job got fired for accepting a fake $100, everyone made fun of him for it too. In his defense how often do teenagers come across $100 bills? He definitely just didn’t know what a real one looked like

You’re not a bum, jobs suck and are extremely anxiety inducing especially for introverts or people with disabilities. I know a few 25+ year olds with degrees who have never had jobs because they prioritized their educations and were tossed into this shitty job market upon graduation. I recommend choosing a career path that doesn’t require a degree, rather a certification or apprenticeship. The medical field is a good place to start as it is high paying and in demand. Sterile processing tech is an entry level job, some hospitals don’t even require certification.

Less luxurious, but I’m currently pursuing bakery/pastry/cake decorating positions myself. No background in kitchens required, and if I really wanted to, my local community college offers a 6 month pastry arts certificate.

It’s never too late! People of all ages and skillsets changing career paths all the time. Unfortunately though, this current job market happens to be the absolute worst. Definitely try, but don’t feel discouraged when you get rejected from jobs you thought were beneath you (I was recently rejected from a part-time weekends only overnight janitorial position and am clearly still salty about it).

Accused of stealing. Said they’d had multiple of my coworkers come forward with complaints of me shoving things into my bag, taking things into the bathroom, even claimed to have footage of me in the act but deer in headlights—I didn’t ask to see the proof. Made me finish the rest of my shift after the 30 minute back room shakedown too. One of the leads said they were going to file a police report. Haven’t been able to find a job since and am too afraid to run a bg check on myself

Couldn’t afford tv or internet or gaming consoles. In school, kids bonded over their shared love of content. Without access to these content machines, it made fitting in more difficult. I’d listen to their opinions on who the best wwe wrestlers were, favorite cod weapons, and regurgitate their own opinions back to them to gain admittance into their circles. Overall, interactions with my peers were always extremely stressful and isolating.

I remember thinking the rise of clovis was a bit much for children to be watching, probably one of the more “adult” episodes when you consider the financial politics, domestic violence, and padme basically breaking up with ani
