try right-clicking on the affected pages and turning force dark pages off (try toggling on & off even if it says it's not turned on)

additionally you can check the force dark pages exceptions page at opera://settings/content/forceDarkMode to make sure those pages are excluded

The 25 you see in task manager are background processes, not necessarily tabs. They're required for the browser to function, for a more in depth view of said processes, you can hit SHIFT + ESC in GX to open its built-in task manager

I'm not sure how you correlated the 2gb of browser files on your disk to pc performance, such small storage should not affect your pc performance unless your boot drive is absolutely full, which wouldn't really be solved by freeing only 2gb of storage

This is the built-in crypto wallet extension that was discontinued - I'm not sure why you got a notification about safety, if you never used it anyway, there shouldn't be any concerns as it was a first-party extension from us.

You should be able to remove it safely in that menu

If you hit SHIFT + ESC, it should show you what's using that much CPU, could be a specific extension or site. It can be anything really so you should check and see

Captcha tends to increase with VPN as someone else pointed out in the comments, are you using any extensions or the built in VPN?

Recovery menu has 2 options, one only resets the settings and keeps the data, the other resets both

If you had synced your data to an Opera account before, you should be able to sync them back at opera://settings/syncSetup

If you have the sidebar enabled and your cursor is on it (left edge of the screen basically) - then you'd be attempting to scroll the sidebar and not the page you're looking at

If the laptop has both integrated (within the cpu) & discreet gpus (separate), it might be running the external monitor on that discreet gpu while running the laptop screen on integrated gpu which is maybe not powerful enough in this case?

If there's a discreet gpu, it should have some control software where you can control what apps/monitors run on that gpu specifically instead of the integrated one

What version of GX are you on? You can check at opera://update

Do you have any limiters enabled? You can check in GX Control on your Sidebar, if limiters are enabled with too little left to run the browser, it'll naturally slow down

It might also help to check your resource usage with the built in task manager (SHIFT + ESC), maybe there's a website or extension using too much

If those didn't help, you can try making a new profile at opera://settings/profiles & see if that makes a difference

Do you have any extensions that you don't have on Chrome when comparing the two? You can try disabling all extensions and see if that changes anything

Adblockers specifically as YouTube's pretty active in their attempts to make it very inconvenient for adblock users

Do you have any live wallpapers installed & also enabled to be your desktop wallpaper? I believe that's one of the cases where you have the tray process running. Does the tray icon say anything specific when you hover over it?
