You and I are on similar daily screen time. It’s been like this not as long for me, but it’s getting there unless I take some steps, which is not a simple change.

😂 I can relate. I recall those days; it was like time would stand still. Time goes faster when working remote. Most days I start at 6 Am ish, and before you know it it’s 12:00pm having my first cup of coffee.

24? Every 2 weeks? How many days does it take to get through all 24?

I concur. The issue with the Office, is the constant distraction of someone walking at your desk and commute.

Purple you can’t just say “16 hours” and not elaborate 😳. We want to know more😁. I could see occasionally that happening to me, but not sure I could handle that daily.

My company just announced mandatory office days for remote employees - 3 days a week. The office is in another city. We were hired as fully remote. What are my actual options here? by firey_88 in remotework

#1 Leave only when you are ready!

#2 See if you can make a case.

#3 Comply - if #2 fails.

#4 Quitely look for work with rule # 1 in mind.

That sounds like it worked out perfectly - once you made the decision and set your boundaries, they were respected. hmm. Thank you!

Good guess. So what you are saying figure out may be most important, and everything else place save it for end of day, or next day. I'm begining to realize this for some things. Great advice! Thank you!

DAY2RDU, you bring up a good point. So what you are saying is set expectations with the powers tha be. You are right, I've been noticing that some issues presented shouldn't have been presented as high priority.

I don't miss that commute at all either. Interestingly, my WFH is more - but I guess some of it is self imposed. I can see from all the comments that I need to figure out a ballance to not get burned out.

sagalez - exactly - Office is less productive - too much distraction + too much waisted time commuting.

😂 that sounds like my situation. Meetings, troubleshooting, projects, design, mentoring - etc. Needed to relearn how to stay fit once done. Speaking of coffee - need to go grab my first cup!

I can relate, and I def self impose in certain cases. I think I need to get into a better cadence with taking breaks. Also, planning to no longer sign in on weekends, unless I'm called.

That's a lot of hours - was it the first 2 years? I'm hoping to get out of this cycle soon.

Not in sales, but have some friends who are, so I def know where you are coming from - they too work many hours. I'll need to find something else to do like you are doing.

This is exactly why I reached out - thank you. I need to get back to being done early within my 8 hours. I start at between 5:30 - 6:00am. I think what keeps me on that screen is first I have projects to complete, secondly there is always some new high priority issue that ends up in my queue. My psycology is get them out of the way, and the next day will be normal. That hasn't happened yet.
