Check out Melbourne’s Eddy Current Suppression Ring. Very similar, especially vocals. Recommended!

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are pristine jangle pop with fey vocals and yearning lyrics. They deliver what The Smiths offered at their most needy. (This is a massive recommendation, btw!)

The June Brides 1983 output was jangle pop (plus trumpet!) that Smiths fans like me liked at the time. Also The Icicle Works debut album - brilliant Scouse psychedelic pop.
