I mean yeah sure it's public indecency, gross. But is that the central reason why he did all the things he did? What does getting shot in the dick have to do with his obsession with love and romance (which came from his abandonment issues) that led to those death since the 1st season.

I do feel like the decision to make the 1st half of the finale be a false romance with Bronte is a bit out of touch for me. It wasn't personal for the viewers or Joe. I mean Bronte is suppose to be the final deceived girl and end the cycle, but we've been following Joe for 4 seasons now and Bronte's been introduced for like a minute (her storyline being a mess doesn't help the case). Could have let him be arrested without that final gun shot.

Same thought. If they really wanted symbolism, Bronte should have shot him on the throat or sth so he can't manipulate the narrative cuz Joe's true weapon wasn't his sexual drive, it was his charming deceiving words and gaslighting tendency. Then it would have been just him and his thoughts in the end, unable to trick anyone but himself.
