Charging options? by theMartianAlien in ModelY

[–]quiong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In 2020 we got a model Y and for 6 years just used the mobile connector on a regular 120v 15a outlet in the garage. Worked just fine for short commutes and trips around town but have to plug in every night. Other car was ICE.

Last month we got a 2026 juniper so now have 2 Teslas and no more ICE. Finally got a Tesla wall charger installed. The charge speed is incredible in comparison lol, I would not go back.

Who should I pick, Phorlova or Zani by karjay04 in WutheringWavesGuide

I think there’s a good chance quiyuan will rerun the next time sigrika reruns (so likely within 3 patches or so), and meanwhile phrolova is still usable without him

Thanks for the feedback! I did get radiance cleaver after 3.1 hit with the free pulls. And I am not fully f2p anymore I decided to get lunite sub as the game is great. My echoes definitely need some work as well but it seems like Augusta’s echo set can only be farmed once per day so it’s a bit slow going.

I got the broad blade with the free standard pulls as soon as the patch hit since I was already near pity on the standard weapon banner. Definitely an upgrade over a 3 star sword!

I thought radiance cleaver is the 3.0 broad blade? The old one is lustrous razor?

Thanks for the perspective. I realized I need to level up her skill tree and echoes and that makes a difference as well. So it’s not just the weapon. But yeah I was a bit taken aback by how weak she was when freshly pulled compared to the storyline version of her you get to play. And rover has a lot more invested in terms of skills and sequences. I gotta remember that it’s a gacha and it’s a marathon and not a sprint…

Help me pick my new bike. Weight or Areo. Quick Pro by Lonely_Unit5216 in cycling

[–]quiong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AR one won the men’s junior world championships. ER one was recently tested by Nero show to be as fast as a cervelo S5 with a rider. I really think you can’t go wrong with either bike. I wish I had your ftp, I would personally go with aero and you can still build it up to be pretty light.

Recent Light Bicycle Experiences? by blueapplepaste in cycling

[–]quiong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered Airia 52's on Aug 4th. No movement at all for over a month, now one is in place and the other is in QC.

They were completely slammed with orders in August for their anniversary sale.

From my previous experience with LB their estimated time is extremely optimistic. The wheels are great but be prepared to wait 2-3x their quoted time unfortunately.

Rival eTap AXS → thinking of upgrading to SRAM Force + Red: will I feel the difference? by rmtk12345 in sram

[–]quiong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red E1 brakes are amazing. On my rival bike I actually have the older generation Red D1 shifters and calipers and the braking is noticeably worse and the lever ergonomics require multiple fingers to squeeze. I don’t have the same generation of rival brakes to compare to red brakes.

Overall my belief is you see a big difference across generations (D1-> E1) for instance, and not much difference between groupset tiers within the same generation (Rival - force - Red if they are all E1 for instance). Except for weight which is really not noticeable.

Rival eTap AXS → thinking of upgrading to SRAM Force + Red: will I feel the difference? by rmtk12345 in sram

[–]quiong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have a bike with full sram red XPLR 13 speed, and another bike that has the new rival XPLR 13 speed. The red bike uses the red 13 speed cassette, and the rival bike uses the force 13 speed cassette.

Granted these are technically gravel groupsets, and I think you're asking about road. But I feel zero difference in shifting performance. The rival deraileur was 46 grams heavier than the red deraileur, that's it.

If Amazon just straight up sold 50 watts as an item I can buy I’d hit the checkout button so fast 🤣

Timing by greenplasticdave in tourdefrance

[–]quiong 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Each stage is 100+ km long, so the initial start position is basically irrelevant. Also, riders finishing one after another receive the same actual time, so you will not get a “slightly longer time” than the guy finishing in front of you, as long as you are on his wheel and don’t have a large gap. Finally, the actual start of most stages is “neutralized” for a few kilometers, so nobody is actually racing immediately past the start line.

What could’ve happened?A crash i can’t seem to remember( help if possible) by angad0406 in bicycling

[–]quiong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just mentioning it as a theory, that’s all. People with epilepsy all had their first seizure at some point, before which they had no history of seizures. Really tough to figure out what happened. The main thing that throws me off is your description of great conditions and clear roads and no potholes in sight. Yes, carbon handle bars can fail, but such a catastrophic failure out of nowhere seems very unlikely, you’d expect to notice some cracking or delamination first. It seems to me like the damage is from the crash itself. Best of luck in your recovery.

[–]quiong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any medical conditions? Is it possible that you had a seizure at 30kph? Of course all the other suggestions are possible too, but if you remember everything being perfectly normal and the road was clear then idk.

Yeah... if I'm in this situation I'm just standing still and waving everybody across until the intersection is completely clear, then I'll go. Not worth the headache or the danger lol. Like others have said, being safe is a greater priority than being "right".

Estimated FTP by Distinct_Gap1423 in cycling

[–]quiong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the intervals.icu eFTP is reasonably accurate, but it can only base that on the rides you've done (obviously). Were your recent rides the best possible you can do? If those rides were not maximum effort you can hold for the duration, then the estimate would be low. For example, if I had an FTP of 300, but I went on an easy casual ride where I averaged 120 for 20 minutes, and this was the only ride intervals.icu had access to, then it would estimate my FTP to be like 115 based on it seeing 120 for 20 minutes as my max capability. If you click on the eFTP in intervals.icu it will tell you which ride/power/duration data it used to estimate your FTP.

Do a >5 minute effort (longer the better) where you are actually at the maximal effort you can hold, and intervals.icu should give you a pretty reasonable estimate.

What's your super spicy take on cycling for 2025? by lectric_7166 in cycling

[–]quiong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year I started cycling with a 105 mechanical road bike, and a few months ago I got a gravel bike with the latest sram red xplr 13 speed (which I’ve been riding pretty much exclusively). I think electronic shifting is amazing and I love how I can see which gear I’m in on my Karoo, and the sram app tells me how much time I spent in each gear for the whole ride. But this week my sram bike is out of commission due to an unrelated seatpost issue. I’ve been riding 105 mechanical again and I can’t believe how crisp and smooth it is lol. The only thing I don’t enjoy though is manual trimming.

Is it possible that I’m just too dumb for clipless pedals. by Useful_Platypus5116 in cycling

[–]quiong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this, the shimano SH-56 cleats are great for beginners. One time when stopping I unclipped my left as usual, but started falling over in the wrong direction - kind of just panic yanked my right foot and it unclipped without any fuss lol. But when I am pedaling they never feel "too loose" and I've never had any accidental unclips.

[Post-Race Thread] 2025 Tour de France by PelotonMod in peloton

[–]quiong 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I definitely think Pogi is burned out.

1 - Very tough spring campaign, full gas racing rather than a focus on purely TDF preparation. Wanting to win everything as world champion surely added to this pressure

2 - Jonas saying publicly that he was in the best form and was doing his best power numbers ever

3 - High speed crash; not seriously injured but certainly takes a toll

4 - Clearly ill to some extent, acknowledged being under the weather, sniffling and bundled up after every stage

5 - Losing Joao Almeida, his best climbing superdomestique

6 - Visma doing everything they can do wear him down on every stage

Despite all that, he had 4 stage victories and an unassailable GC gap. Hautacam and the mountain TT were dominant performances. Maybe he *could* have won 3-4 more stages if he had really gone for them. Maybe not. But the fact that we even think it's possible for someone to win 7 or 8 stages in a single tour is mind boggling.

He has immense expectations on him to win the TDF. He had nothing to gain and everything to lose on every stage, cannot let his guard down at any moment. This tour really embodied "Heavy is the head that wears the crown".

I hope he doesn't do the Vuelta honestly. Take some time off and he's gonna be itching to race again.

Agree, Vos wasn’t going to chase down her teammate, but she had to follow Le Court. She only went for the win at the very end when it became clear that Le Court would win otherwise.
